Will we be able to snag same day single FP for people not on our trip linked to our MDE account if I bring their bands? It is just my wife and I this Dec but our kids have bands linked to our account. If i bring them can we get those FP 1 at a time at a kiosk?

There's no need to do it same day one by one. If you guys are AP's and are bringing their bands, you can select 3 in advance for each so you and your wife can have your 3 each, then 3 per extra magic band you bring.

No, we are from Nebraska, so we go every few years only, doing 7 days so no AP.

If they're not on the trip, why on earth would they need fast passes?

Same reason people bring their own bands from other MDE accounts, to get same day FP for those bands to ride rides.

I think that the Magic Bands need to be used for park entry to be valid for FastPasses - that's how it was with old tickets anyway.

I hope Disney would have seen through this cheat.

Unfortunately, the bands do not have to be activated with park entry. Disney expressly prohibits the use of MB's to gain additional benefits other than a single band per person. They also prohibit using other people's bands.

I have absolutely no doubt Disney is aware this is going on. Until Disney chooses to enforce that rule, people can and will bring additional bands into the parks to get more than their entitlement of FP+. At this point, I blame Disney for not putting in what I think would be an easy fix. Link the bands to park entry. I don't expect people to be self policing anymore. If they can, they will.

There's a thread about this kind of thing:

http://disboards.com/threads/maximi...-new-mde-see-post-227-before-posting.3245463/

OP - you may want to keep any eye that thread to see if anything changes before your trip.

A heads up to the pp- The moderators have made it clear that the discussion about the practice of using multiple bands cannot be discussed on that thread except in an informational format only. People are not allowed to post their opinions on that thread.

I am not much into rides, so I booked my FPs for my daughter and husband. We used the MBs interchangably on our last trip. At least some CMs saw this and knew it and didn't act like we were doing anything wrong.

I'm not saying that didn't happen. What I'm saying is Disney officially says it's against the rules. It's their choice whether to enforce that or put in stops to make sure it doesn't happen and so far, they have chosen not to.

I don't know if it's officially against the rules. Maybe it is. I don't know.

I do know you're not supposed to use someone else's ticket media, and since MBs are many people's "ticket media" these days, I understand the non-transferable rules in that regard.

It's pretty well documented here (at least in my cursory reading and what I remember) that no one cares whether people are swapping bands or not for FP purposes. Since this is under Theme Park Attractions and Strategies, I would just want people to know that (from what I can gather), it's no biggie.

Here's a link to one of many threads about that:

It is..there are several places on the website where they say this, here are a couple.

As I said, it's up to Disney whether they enforce their rules, but regardless of what my or anyone's opinion of it is, they do have rules against it. What I would want people to know, is you can do it. As of today, it works. But should Disney decide to start enforcing their policy, it's not a new change in rules. They've always been there, they're just ignored at the moment and no one can say if or when that will change.
