Anyone else hear a response in recent days from Disney Guest Relations? Back a week or so ago when several folks said they were going to contact Disney with pre-feedback about FP+, I wrote an email and included all my contact info. I got an auto-response saying that they had received my email. No further word, which is OK by me. I was just curious to hear if anyone had anything to add from Disney in recent days that might add to our collected "knowledge" about MB and FP+
Here's a new issue I just thought of, at least I think it's not plagiarized
Inspired by all the rides closed for all/most of my trip (JC, Muppets, SE, Prince Charming RC, Tiki Room - why can't it ever be Stitch and Speedway?):
Most (if not all) of these were announced less than 60 days out, will ride refurbs be consisently/always announced prior to 60 days?
Can you imagine getting TSM, and then less than a month out, finding out your FP+ is cancelled, and there is nothing left but LMA?
Also, can you imagine all the posts like the following that will be on here everyday:
"wdwinfo has TSM down on the date I have my FP+, but disneyworld.com has it open. Should I change it to Star Tours now, or hope wdwinfo is wrong, and hold on to my TSM FP+, but then, if the closure is "ofiicially" announced, I'll probably be stuck with LMA"

Feel free to take the negative approach-its great conversation IMO. But for us-the new system crushes the old one, even at worst case.
I think that the new FP+ will help our family too in some ways. We would be quite happy to get two pre-reserved headliners a day in one park a day. We know what parks we will generally be in on what day by 60 days out. We enjoy a lot of the second-tier rides as well. We don't tour for hours and hours a day. We like to spend time at the resort and of course eating lol.
Anyway, I think the effect it will have on people will definitely depend on how they tour now.
We're only a "small percentage" when it serves the purpose to say so. We're the "vast majority" when it comes to villainous intent to break the rules, over-use and hoard FP's.
I predict that this will be the case for FP+. The majority of the guests will be perfectly satisfied with the limit that is set (and I think it will be adjusted up, probably to 5) and a very small number of guests will be satisfied after adjusting their strategy and a smaller number still will be completely dissatisfied with the limitations.
I sent an email over the weekend, and all I got so far is the auto-response. Anyone care to read the tea leaves on this "silence?"

[Scene: Poor intern sitting at desk, in the dark, late at night...supervisor is in an office nearby, door open]
Intern: Why? Why do they keep asking these questions? We don't even know the answers yet! We're just testing it now!
Supervisor: Another Fastpass+ complaint?
Intern: Yes! They are incessant...always talking about how only three Fastpasses will ruin their vacation, blah, blah, blah...
Supervisor: Just send the canned response, and put it in the Fastpass+ folder. Someone will look at it in the morning.
Intern: OK.
[Intern looks back at screen...highlights the entire Inbox....and clicks Delete.]
Intern: [quietly] Response sent...curse you, DISers...
Cross-posting this with the MagicBand thread...
I finally got my post trip survey as a MagicBand tester. Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I will definitely be communicating some of the concerns that have been expressed here on the Dis if given the opportunity to.![]()
I've been picturing Frank and Lisa Newbie grabbing Stitch FP+ because their kids love Stitch. Wouldn't that be a surprise?
A BUNCH of people are going to "waste" FP on absolutely stupid crap they don't need to use FPs on.
But for the newbies it will be even worse, and where we WILL benefit, by booking the rides that you NEED FP for, we will benefit not because the SYSTEM is good, but because other people are uninformed, and will not be able to navigate the system well.
^This! Is my greatest criticism of FP+ and if it rolls out requiring me to lock into a park day for FP+ times 60 days out, and means I have to keep to checking for changes and availability and/or doing standby for the headliners if I want to ride them - yuck! I'm a huge planner, but have never made a trip without at least one or more days that change due to weather, what the kids need/want and/or illness - in May we had a 6 hour weather delay at the airport - totally changed our 1st (and 2nd) day plans. But here is the problem with that, it doesn't really make the system better for the most of us (although those two people who said they only like to go in the evening will benefit) ... because for us it removes flexibility, increases planning needed, and limits our use of FP.
.
^ And that! I'm also dreading what it will be like when they start blocking off all the FP+ spots for parades and shows and the kind of atmosphere/lack of magic that may create. Then again, one of the unintended consequences of FP+ may be that we now WILL need a FP to do those attractions without a long wait.
Friend of the family got to test recently. Went to studios. Had no problem getting FP+ for all 3 E's. Said everything went smoothly. Will be testing again soon.
Let the "yes, but"s begin
Obviously YMMV, IMO, BYOB, etc. lol
