FP+ Details Are Out!

So I clicked on the link in the box and here's one of the items listed for DHS

AED/Automated External Defibrillators

... don't think anyone's going to intentionally add that to their day LOL

LOL! That would be the new attraction in the Wonders of Life pavilion...

"Dexter's Emergency Room Adventure."

So under this new system the only way to be certain you can do a favorite attraction, you'd have to short yourself on another day and use a second spot for that attraction? That's just not very doable if the magic number is 3.

No-if you "skipped/missed" your fave-it would have been wise to have it reserved later in the week as well, at least IMO.

To simply be certain of doing a favorite-I would assume your FP+ will work 99% of the time. If it didn't-just do it at RP one day to get it in.

If only they could come up with a system that would allow greater flexibility, allowing guests to make all of their decisions same day with a minimum of fuss once they got to the park, maybe something that didn't rely on inadequate wireless coverage in the parks, something that allowed for last minute changes in plans.

Ahhh......... if only. I guess we can all just keep dreaming.

You can-its called rope drop and SB, and also changing FP+ at any time you see selections you would rather have. Reserving in advance is just an option you can choose to do if you want.

Is there a ballpark rollout date yet? I'm hoping after September. I'm going in September and id rather not deal with this until the kinks are worked out (I'd rather not deal with it period, but I don't have a choice).

The only clue is that all information provided by Disney talks about rollout "later this year." But even that could be changed if necessary.

hahahaha Perfect response.

I don't understand what the PP doesn't get, they say "you are not locked in" .... YES you ARE !!! that's the whole point of FP+, booking 60 days out !!!

They mean you can cancel any time. Of course... the odds of being able to pick whatever you want the day you cancel...

In the first case, that's not creating an advantage of FP+ then, its creating a system where you need a backup pre-booked 60 days out, which just sounds dumb IMO. The current system allows the flexibility that you don't need to do that, which means the new system is ... worse ?

Under the current system if you miss a day because of weather, or a sickness, etc, you can just do double duty between two parks, except you could get FPs for the headliners in those parks. You could choose which you would go to for RD and which you could go later for and FP, or you could do FP in both parks. Under FP+ ... nope.

And your last point, honestly, is not well thought out ..... Either there is no point in having FP, because hey "its called rope drop and SB" ... or, um no one is going to book in advance, that's just something you do optionally.... please ! Basically everyone here recognizes that the Headliners are going to book like MAD 60 days out. Especially if they are limiting the FPs. People will gravitate to the must dos.

Did I read somewhere that there will be FP+ return times right at park opening? Wouldn't that make rope drop in the stand by lines less ideal than it is now. Stand by lines would have longer waits right from the beginning due to FP+ people having priority. I see a lot of comments from people about just riding at RD if they don't have FP+ for a favorite ride. Will this still work even with FP+ times starting at park opening since the crowd will still be lighter at that time?

I do believe that FP+ will impact rope drop standby times somewhat. I don't think the times started right at rope drop, but maybe 40 minutes later. But I also still think human nature is what it is and there will be a fair amount of no-shows as people decide they are on vacation and deserve to sleep in.

I wonder about this too .... if people are forced into RD FP+ times, what will that make the RD experience like ?

There are three possibilities that I can see:

1) No real change, because RD FP+ times will likely be the least popular, and MAYBE (I don't think so) but they just wont book up, either because there is enough capacity later in the day/evening (which means SB wont be great by any means) or because people just wont take em.

2) A little worse. People will be forced into (and some will choose) the early morning FPs. BUT, some people just wont show up. The alarm will go off in the morning, and the snooze button will be hit, or the kids will not cooperate. (although again, this doesn't make FP+ sound like a great system)

3) Terrible. If FP+ truly spreads the usage across the whole day, and FP lines are running at full capacity, meaning SB lines will start to back up minutes after RD, this will nearly completely ruin the experience of RD for many people. I say nearly because I assume that there will still be LESS people in SB, then later in the day, however, if FP+ is forcing people to get to the parks early to make their times, AND this is combined with the RDers .... it might be quite bad.

If anyone else has a scenario, that doesn't involve rainbows or unicorns, do share.

So who is eligible for FP+ one it rolls out and how can I be sure to get it if regular FP is no longer available?

Spoke to disney uk today... really worried how fp+ will affect our aug hol. They said there will be more and more testing. .. but fp same day will still be offered in aug. Slight prob when on site guests have fp+ trials and can use same day fps too ( lucky things) just pleased we will be able to tour as normal.
Uk disney did say only 3fps per day in only one park! !!!!

1- So who is eligible for FP+ one it rolls out and

2- how can I be sure to get it if regular FP is no longer available?

As far as we know... which is not a lot...

1- Anyone with a WDW ticket.

2- You will book your FP+ at some time in advance.
We are generally assuming as much as 60 days in advance.
MyDisneyExperience and/or another Disney website can be utilized.

i wonder if the will allow FP+ prebookings by phone...that could get lengthy

"FastPass+ service will let you be free to enjoy the moment with others, knowing many of your must-do activities are secured in advance."

Assuming that you only have three "must do" activities (and also assuming only one of them is a headliner if a tiered system is rolled out).

In what universe does many=3?

Booking it everyday only works if you drop $ on hoppers. And while RD is our norm, it may only get you on, say, TSMM twice & RnR once before SB gets ugly. You still haven't gotten to ToT and you have the rest of the day for B stuff with no opportunity to hit headlines again b/c all they had FP+ for when us off-siters got online were GMR, Muppets & parade. Wait. No parade anymore... It set off bands??????

You are only supposed to ride a headliner once, then get out of the way for other non-super-users to ride. Expecting to ride a headliner twice is an unreasonable, entitled :drinking1 attitude! ;)

I see a huge increase in FP availability so no reason to so strictly reduce them and make so many people unhappy. Not only parades and fireworks which can use lots of FP's but DOUBLE the rides.

They need to strictly reduce availability for each individual guest to ensure widespread availability to the "masses." Adding Stitch and COP to FP+ to make up for the limited number of "mountain" FP+s is still restricting.

I know, I know, Mr. Polyanna here. Hey, somebody hand me a big glass of that koolaid.

At least you admit it. :lmao:

For my family, it's not a good day if you only do a headliner once... It's a waste of the day entirely if you don't get on it at all. :(

Evil super-users! :rotfl2:

He never said a "headliner", he said your favourite attraction. My point was if you have one favourite attraction to make or break your trip-there are ways to make it happen if its indeed up and running.

So, as long as "Stitch's Great Escape" is your favorite attraction, FP+ will be a huge success! :lmao:

Similar dichotomy that said that those guests who knew that they could use FP anytime AFTER the Return Window on the same day were so unfairly FEW, but that when they did that, there were so MANY late FP users that they slowed the entire FP system to a crawl.

:thumbsup2

maybe same dichotomy that says FP+ is going to make standby lines longer? ;) or the FP+ won't work:rolleyes1

Respectfully, that's not even remotely similar to the dichotomy Robo referenced. For that matter, I don't think what you said even IS an example of a dichotomy.

Hmmm... A system that does those things would be (in best Wallace Shawn impersonation) "inconceivable!" If only something like that could be accomplished. If only... ;)

there are a heck of a lot of pages in this thread and I have never had much luck searching for specific information in threads. :confused3

Is there a timeline for the rollout of FastPass+? We're going in September and I'm actually hoping it is NOT in place when we go. We've got our touring strategy pretty much memorized for each park (LOL...we're weird that way...we can literally talk ourselves through "virtual" days at each park, LOL!) and I don't have the mental energy right now to put into re-learning a new touring strategy to incorporate FastPass+ between now and then! LOL Plus I'm worried that it will turn out like ADRs have turned out...unless you plan and make your reservations on the first first possible day of the window, you're out of luck.

I was just reading the thread with the complaints about the Disney website. They speak of ADR's disappearing or showing different times or members of their group missing from those ADR's. I can just see this happening with FP+... <<<<shudder>>>>

From what I'm gathering, there's lots of testing going on. Not sure *when* the full rollout will be. So I think the answer to your question is a resounding maybe.
