hey guys,

I have a room reserved at Pop century for 9 days in February. Neither me or the person going with me have our Annual Passes yet (mine expired in Oct)

we will be getting our AP's in January

But they won't be activated obviously until we get to the parks. So I'm assuming that means they will not be linked to the magic bands we are getting sent to us.

My questions are,

My fast pass window opens up next week, Am I still going to be able to make them with no tickets/ap assigned to the account/bands? Are they going to link to the bands and then be available when we assign AP's?

Will I need to make the person coming with me their own My Disney account for everything to work/link?

Thanks!

No, you cannot make any FP reservations without valid park admission linked to your MDE account.

You CAN purchase your AP vouchers in advance, and use that to make FP reservations, then activate them when you arrive.

You can add your friend to your MDE account; they do not have to have their own.

Just to clarify that last line...
Your friend WILL need to have purchased tickets or an AP before any FP+ for the friend can be made.
Your friend will NOT need to have a separate MDE account from yours.

I'm staying off site but booked through Walt Disney Company.
As they can't give me my ticket numbers yet, they added a FP Key Planning code to MDX so I could make FP+ reservations beforehand.
Difference is I have technically bought my tickets, just dont have access to them.

For reference:
Hundreds of guests buy tickets from Disney via Will Call and don't get the tickets until they arrive at WDW.
But, they just connect the confirmation numbers (supplied when they purchase the tickets) to their MDE account and can make FP+ reservations in advance.

If they purchase their tickets via their MDE accounts, the tickets will automatically appear in their MDE account and they can make FP+ reservations in advance.

If they purchase their tickets from an authorized ticket reseller (like UndercoverTourist, or MapleLeafTickets) they can put those ticket numbers into their MDE accounts, and they can make FP+ reservations in advance.
