FP at 9:00am

You can make you first selection for after the park opens but not during EMH.

Are you burning the TSM FP+ reservation that early in the hopes of getting another with your fourth FP+?

We are planning on getting to HS for early morning hours at 8. Going right to TSM to ride standby and hope to get a FP+ for 9am which is the normal park opening so we can ride it twice

Yes. As long as there is still availability for the 9 am slot, you can have it. Book it at 60 days and you shouldn't have any problem at all.
Just a reminder that doing that will mean you can't FP rock n roller coaster.
If RnRC is on your list, I would recommend TSMM at opening, then RnRC stand by or single rider and then a FP for TSMM later in the morning. That way you're still riding twice, but not using your FP during the easiest stand by time of the day.

I totally agree with PP. That is exactly what we plan on doing in November so that we can ride both multiple times.
