FP+ and Park Hopping

@marciemi ~ does this work with 3 pre-booked FPs as @cpdisney will have?

Or, is the hopping with FPs in 2 parks only available with less than the initial 3 pre-booked?
Only with less than 3. Same rules still apply that you have to use the first 3 before you can book the 4th.

Now if you only booked #1 Safari and #2 EE then as soon as you tapped at KS you could book Soarin' (based on availability of course).

No, you'll only have the initial 3 pre-booked FPs.

For DHS, you can prebook TSMM for the morning, as early as possible. As soon as you enter the FP line, book 2 FPs for AK. After TSMM ride RNRC > ToT > Star Tours.

Alternately, you can Rope Drop TSMM then re-ride w/FP. As long as you rope drop DHS, you can save 2 FPs for AK.
{sheepishly} What is Rope Drop?

That is a funny sentence from hiromyhero in regards to rope drop, if one hasn't any idea what rope drop is. :)

Rope Drop is an interesting beast. I always battle between going straight to the popular rides and get in a "freebie" or wander around and enjoy the minor stuff with very low crowds.

At DHS, I have always gone to TSMM.

Ok, all this info is great - couple of questions.

Based on what I'm reading -

1) with the new FP system you no longer have to book 3 FP choices at once anymore correct?

2) So if you only book FP #1 and #2 choices, the minute you scan at the ride for FP #1, you can use the app to book FP #3 at a different park?

3) If all that is correct - can you initially book your 3 FP choices at the first park, once you scan onto ride #1, can you cancel FP #3 for that first park and change it to FP #3 at a different park?

4) If you do book the 3 initial FP for park 1 - I'm guessing then that you can't book the 4th until you have scanned through the 3rd FP ride?

Thanks!

I have a couple of questions for FP+ and park hopping. Initially for our July trip i had planned to park hop to epcot 2 of 3 days to get the tier 1 rides in. I had set up my 3 FP for DHS in the pm to come to the stand by line for TT. But since the 3rd track for TSMM openned i have seen TSMM FP available on same day than TT. So, i changed everything to... FP for TT for the morning and as soon as i hit the FP turnstile, i can book FP for TSMM (if available). Am i correct? If i do SDFP for other magic bands of family members not coming on this trip, can i also do FP while still in EPCOT for DHS? Or can i only do that on the FP kiosks of the park i am currently in?

You can book normal ones as soon as you scan at the Mickey head for that FPP so yes, you could attempt to book TSMM while in the TT line. You cannot book SDFP's for a park other than the one you're at since these need to be booked at the kiosk and the kiosks only are linked to that specific park.

Thank you very much... i think i will stick with this plan. And get my FP for TSMM as soon as i scan at the mickey head for TT.

We were planning on starting our day at epcot then hopping to Hollywood studios later in the day. I was thinking about booking fastpasses for spaceship earth and frozen. I was going to rope drop Soarin then use our fast pass for spaceship earth and then as soon as i scan as spaceship earth i would book TSMM or RRC for hollywood studios. Would i lose my frozen fast pass if i do this?

No, it remains intact. That's the benefit of hopping - the new system allows FPs in two parks as long as you have used the 1st pre-booked FP.

Hi! I've been following along; this will be my first time ever making fast pass+ reservations coming up for an end of August trip....
I have some specific questions and am hoping for advice:

We have 2 day PH passes, and this is the planned itinerary:

Day 1: MK in am, Epcot in pm
Day 2: AK in am, Epcot in pm.

We have young kids (and one baby).

I'm struggling with which fast passes to book - especially on day 1 -
1) book 2-3 for MK, and just see how it goes the morning we are there regarding availability of pm Epcot passes (chance for FOE or Soarin' = zero???)
2) or don't make FP for AK and just book the 'hard to get' Epcot passes for Day 2?

TIA!!!

I think #2 will be best.

Remember you can take advantage of Rider/Child Swap when booking FPs:
Book FPs for 1 adult and kids and request Rider Swap at the FP entrance. Adult #2 + 2 kids ride on the swap without needing a FP.

Just one thing to add... Note that you'll only be able to book FEA OR Soarin' -- not both of these 'hard to get' ones since they are both Tier 1 -- can only pre-book one Tier 1 per day.

Here's a question I don't think I've seen answered yet.

I pre-book 2 FP at DHS - TSMM (tier 1) and ST (tier 2).
After I scan my MB for TSMM can I book Living with the Land (tier 1) at Epcot?
Or can I only have one tier 1 across all parks for my first 3 FP of the day?

Yes, that works. As soon as you tap your first FPP (whether TSMM or ST), you will be able to book your third in another park. Tiers don't matter across parks; just within the same park. So you could do what you said but not book RnRC at that point.

Thank you! Just a follow up question: Even though we could do the rider swap and just fast passes for one adult (other stays with baby), it still works only for one park? Or can the adult that has "no fast passes to their name" do one single fast pass to their name in the park we will visit in the pm? That means in our example that the second adult would have no MK fast passes, but would have one Epcot fast pass to their name. ??

If 1 Adult is not booking FPs for Park #1, that adult can book 1, 2, or 3 for Park #2.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but we're planning a Universal trip this year (!) so we're only getting 1-day hoppers for WDW. We would like to see/experience as many new things as possible (since our last trip in August '15). Priorities are Soarin, eating at skipper Canteen in MK, and watching the Star Wars fireworks. AK just won't be possible this time. We're staying off site (!!) so we only have a 30-day window to make FPs.

Does it make sense to try to book early Soarin FPs (standby for TT at rope drop), as well as an FP for SE, then try for a TSMM FP after we get on Soarin? Or would it make more sense to just make the Soarin FP for a later time (we may have little choice in that anyway with 30 days out), ride as much as we can standby, and try for TSMM and Fantasmic after we get off Soarin? Or are TSMM and Fantasmic in the same tier?

TIA!
