:sunny: Our dilemma is this - we used all of our 2004 points already taking my sister and her children for their first trip our UY is Dec.

We have decided to go down for the 4th of July but need to wait until Dec. to book our 2BDRM - as we need to borrow from 2005 points! I am forever behind the 8 ball with these points :earseek:

How difficult is it to get these dates
How crowded are the parks?

Any help appreciated.

Carolyn

You shouldn't have to wait to borrow the points unless I didn't understand something.

Assumptions: Trip will be July 2005.
Use year is December and you have no points left in your 2004 use year. All your 2005 points are available.

Your trip falls within your 2004 use year which runs from 12/1/2004 to 11/30/2005. But you said you already used the 2004 points.

But you can always borrow one use year ahead. So to make your July 2005 trip, you may borrow points from your 2005 use year which runs from 12/1/2005 through 11/30/2006.

Use year has nothing to do with when you may call for the reservation. If you are going to stay at your home resort, you can call 11 months ahead of check out. For July 2005 the 11 month window opened in August 2004.

You can call now. You shouldn't have to wait! The 2005 points will be in your account when you arrive and that is all that matters.

If you call now, I doubt you will have a problem geting what you want. Expect the parks to be crowded.

Best wishes -

I go every other year at this time. I too will be waiting to book in December because of the 7 month window--Don't want to stay at BCV, prefer OKW. I have never had a problem booking into this week, though it is crowded in the parks around this time and of course on July 4th. We enjoy ourselves, but have never had the luxuary of being able to travel during off peak times, we really don't know what non-existant lines are. We use fast pass, take breaks during the day and it all works out fine.

We went this year for the Fourth and had great time.
As long as you keep hydrated, slather on the sunscreen and bear in mind that it will be a bit crowded you should have fun.

We like to sleep in, so many of our park days we didn't arrive until after lunch time. We swam in the mornings, rode the mouseboats or just otherwise lazed around.
Had no problems seeing and doing all that we wanted.
We did go earlier on our Magic Kingdom days, so that we could get Fantasyland done.

I debated for a long time over which park to watch the 4th fireworks, months and months of agonizing.
In the end, my group decided to avoid the crowds at MK and head to Epcot instead. Turned out to be a great decision!!! Epcot really absorbed the crowds well and the spot we picked for the fireworks was not crowded at all. My entire group was so impressed by the display, declaring it the best they had ever seen.

Go. Have fun. Drink water.....wear a hat.
Did I mention have fun???

You can borrow points, so make that call.
We are in a state of borrowing because we take the entire family, six extra people!

We have gone twice during the week of the 4th of July. One year we didn't even plan our trip until about 3 weeks ahead and had no problem getting our room.

It is hot and it is crowded, but it is WONDERFUL as always.

Drink lots of water, don't forget hats and sunscreen, and ENJOY yourselves :)

same as others have said.. lots of water etc..
last year we decided to take it easy on July 4th... we were at BCV, relaxed at SAB in the morning, went to MGM and Epcot in the afternoon, neither impossibly crowded, then had PS at Chef Mickey's for dinner, watched 4th of July version of Wishes from the Contempary, walked over the MK after Wishes as the crowd was leaving and walked onto most rides until 12:30 that night... delightful!!
