Just curious about what's cool to do on the 4th.. so far we have plans for a 7:45 dinner in MK at Tony's town square (parade and fireworks soon after!) We have a 4yo/almost 3yo/ and 16 mo. :confused3

NOT GO INTO MK!!! or that's what I've heard. Beware there will be massive amounts of people there with that same intentions....if possible try to go on the 3rd, same fireworks (hopefully) less people.

We're going to MK in the morning, having lunch at CP and then leaving for another park after that. We got a tip to call and ask whether the other parks are open for guests before we head to them. I was thinking we'd go to Epcot, but heard that might be crazy too so now we might go to MGM. I figure we'll make that decision right before we go and find out what the crowds are like.

I totally agree!! We never go to the parks on the fourth. They are unbelievably crowded. And this year they are having a citizenship ceremony for 1000 people AND their families. We have been to Disney the last 5 years over the 4th and they close the parks extremely early, due to capacity limits. Last year I believe it was 11:00 am for MK!! We usually go to a waterpark during the day and then go to DTD disney for the fireworks there.

We're planning on hitting AK the morning of....sssshhh, there's no fireworks there! We actaully have ADR for dinner at Le Cellier that night, I'm a little concerned with trying to get into Epcot for our ADR....but that's a chance I'm willing to take. We're staying at the BCV, so hoping it's not too bad since we can enter/exit through the International Gateway.

While MK does fill to capacity each year, it generally opens up again in the afternoon. I have been told by a couple of CM's that if you have an ADR slip (they will print them out for you at Guest Services of any WDW resort) that will give you priority if there is a line waiting for capacity to ease.

What's cool to do? Definitely not standing outside! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

With your young family, I would plan on taking it as easy as possible that day with a good afternoon nap for anyone who needs it. Stay as cool as possible until you head over to MK, and then be prepared for some heavy crowds and heat.

Good luck to you! :)
