Four-mer TKers...4 one, 4 all, 4 ever

I've always wanted to take the kids to Colonial Williamsburg. It was on the table for this coming year's vacation. Still a possibility but only slight. I still have time to do some more research on everything.

See I would love to get up late, head to only World Showcase for the day and just explore. I love it there and the kids do too. How relaxing would it be just to stroll around the shops and watch all the performers there.

You ladies were chatty last night.

I know we could never recreate that trip but in my own little fantasy world, I would love to recreate that feeling we had when we finally made it back there after so long.

I keep thinking the same thing...it would be really hard to do better than this past trip (except for DD being sick). I can't even think of anything we would do differently.

OK---I can wait...:yay: I love surprises!

I think you said it exactly right about the rushing part. There is something magical about MK for sure. I did enjoy EPCOT more this year when we did it in 2 days instead of craming it in 1. We didn't even stay for the fireworks either time.

I used to go to Colonial Williamsburg several times a year. I just loved to stroll around and soak up the atmosphere. Then my friend got married and I could not get anyone to go along. My mom doesn't like it that much and it was hard for her to even walk around without places to sit.

Surprises :woohoo: :woohoo:

I went to Williamsburg when I was 12, still remember what a great time it was. Definitely somewhere I'd like to take my kids someday.

We planned to do this our last day...had brunch with Lilo & Stitch and headed to Epcot around 1...the plan was to have dinner at Japan and then watch Illuminations but no one seemed really into it...by the time we got to Japan (we started at Canada) DS just wanted to go back to FW and do Mars Mission, DH's back hurt and wanted to go back to the hotel, I think after 7 days they were just tired out. So we had lunch at Japan instead and DD & DH headed back to the pool and DS & I did some shopping, TT and MS. We ended up having Grilled Cheese at the hotel and watching Wishes from the beach which was nice and relaxing. I'll have to do the WS early in the trip next time. But I definitely like the idea of spending the day just doing the countries.

I just must get moving but just cannot get motivated. I think I just need a big dumpster outside and a shovel and not worry if I should save something. Have you ever seen the show Clean House? I guess my New Year's wish would be to have them come while I was at Disney and make a clean sweep of things. Of course I would need to store the things I really want like my gingerbreadmen, Longaberger Baskets and Disney stuff. The rest can go---no wait, I need to keep some things my Dad refinished for me and the quilt my grandmother made...oops, also the crock from my grandparents and my Planters Peanut stuff. Maybe they will find my old photos and postcard collection in the basement somewhere I guess. I have to have my snowmen even if I didn't get them all out this year. Well---maybe I had better get it done myself but the question is when??? I did have my office done but the piles came back! :confused3
I'm off to get a trash bag...Have a good one!

EV snuck in...morning...

We just did the countries for the Food and Wine Festival and still didn't get into all the shops and places. It's a big place.
Wmburg is great. I'm sure it's been at least 5 years since I've been there though. Jamestown and Yorktown are very close too. There's a Mariner's Museum near Hampton too--east on 64. Of course Bush Gardens is there too.

Good Morning,

Happy Second to Last Day of 2008. No real New Years plans here. DH has to work. The only tradition we have is to make "special meals" for each person. Something homemade that he/she loves. The kids requested pizzas so no biggie there. DH and I will splurge and grill some steaks. (I bring the ol' Webber out regardless of the weather.)

Afterwards we all watch a movie until its time for the Ball Drop in New York.

I'll second the book 90 Min in Heaven. Very moving story! :thumbsup2

As for Disney vacations, we only stay on-site when there's a good deal. I actually prefer to stay off-site. Not only for costs but I love the bigger rooms. We've stayed at the Buena Vista Suites which is 5min outside of WDW by car. You get a 1 bedroom suite w/ living room, pullout couch, fridge, sink, micro all for around $89 - depending on when you go. It also includes a free full hot breakfast for the family. They offer anything you could want for breakfast or they will special make it. There's a grocery store near by which we buy food to save on food in the parks. Works out well. STill a magical vacation for us.

Welcome back M&N! We missed you.

Tonight Rudolph's Shiny New Year is on at 7pm central time on ABC. Don't miss cute little baby New Year!!!

D&DDisney great pictures. now I really want to stay at POR.
Even with 10 days we didn't see everything, but we did see Universal also. Sending DH of to play golf made my visit to Epcot much better. I could take my time and see what I wanted to see. (Did I mention he's my other child? :lmao: )
LivinInThe Castle If you're worried, wait for a while and see how things are going. I prefer to wait awhile (3-4 yrs) between visits so it doesn't grow old to me. :flower3: :wizard:
I'm not even sure I'm going to stay up for New Years Eve. :scratchin

I think the other threads just don't have busy people.:confused3
Plus, we have to make sure they are good before we serve them don't we?

Evening ladies! How was everyone today? It was a good clear day but we had some nasty winds! I did manage to sneak to Target today and scored lots of holiday stuff 75% off! I did really well. I got "gold" items for the new house: shower curtains, tablecloths and runners, placemats and napkins. Not really Christmasy-looking, and definitely things we will need. And I did get some of those candy cane kisses! I can't wait to taste one later!

I'm still putting off packing. I did make a list though. Its almost two weeks out!

I went to Williamsburg a few years ago. Really beautiful country! Loved Busch Gardens and Old Williamsburg, but both were not disability-friendly which was disappointing. Went to the best Mexican restaurant ever there! And I love the Williamsburg Pottery place. We stayed at a timeshare place, it was gorgeous and close to everything. We may try to go there again soon.

EPCOT is my absolute favorite. I always try to get us two days to do it. BF likes to do 2 days at MK. I think we may give up AK and DHS and just do four days, two days each at EPCOT and MK. And of course, an evening at DTD! One day out at Cape Canaveral and sunset cruise, and some time at Universal. I need to use that AP!

I forgot to look for that 90 minutes in heaven book! Darn! Is it fiction? Or an inspirational book? I'm presently reading World without End and I'm enjoying it far more than I did Pillars of the Earth.

No real plans for the New Year. Except have to wear polkadots and eat round food, preferably 13 in total: 1 for each month of the year plus one. The roundness represents good health and wealth in the new year. Plus my twins are New Years babies--they're turning 18! Ack! When did that happen?

LITC< I was totally thinking of you when I saw there was a Jon and Kate marathon. Did you see which one was the viewers' #1 choice? I missed it!

M&N...I'm with you with the Clean House people. I have to seriously clean out some things, and the chaos is contributing to my avoiding packing I think.

Hi kitty---so funny that you thought of me when you saw Jon and Kate on, because I thought of you! I also missed which one was number 1, darn it! I guess I'll have to watch my new dvd's to see all the episodes!!!

90 minutes in heaven is a story wirtten by a man involved in a serious auto crash and his story afterwards-I won't say to much I don't want to ruin it, but it is inspirational beyond words!

Thanks LITC! I will definitely have to look that book up. Is it a thick one? I'm looking for a seriously thick paperback to bring with me on the plane....

How many seasons of Jon and Kate are there? I'm hoping they'll show it again sometime soon....

It's probably somewhere in the 200 pages range, I read a hardback, but I think they have it in paperback now.

They just started the fourth season of Jon and Kate. I hope they continue for awhile, I just love them.

Has anyone else seen the newest commercial for Weight Watchers? Their ad for the Momentum plan?

Is it wrong for me to find their orange muppet "Hunger" really cute? No wonder I'm been overfeeding him for so long! I crack up everytime I see the commercial--especially the part where the woman opens her laptop and Hunger opens a pizza box. Brilliant!

Do you think they'll sell an actual Hunger stuffed toy? I love him! I think he's the cutest thing ever!

How funny, no I haven't seen the ad, I heard they had a new plan but that is as much as I know about it. Wow, I can't believe you are heading to the Phils so soon!

My travel agent called the other day just to finalize things...I can't believe how fast time has gone! I really have to get on top of things and prepare the stuff here for while I"m away. I've been hoarding cat food and litter in preparation. I've gotten my bills ready.

I'm getting excited though. Especially to get out of this weather! I can't wait to see the house, the beach, and prep to see all the little kids. I have to get a larger SD card for my camera. I'm not bringing my laptop, so I'll have to go to a computer cafe to get my Dis fix though!

How long will you be gone for? Who are you going with?
Hope it's not to long without a computer, I don't know if I could deal with that.

I'll be gone for nearly a month. We got a discount fare coz we're flying on Friday the 13th! I'll be in air on Valentine's day too.

Just Mom and I going. Dad's taking care of the house and the animals. He'll be heading over to the Phils in April for Holy Week. His town celebrates Easter hard core with a procession and each family has a "float" of their patron saints. Ours happen to be the Washing of the Feet. We have the 12 Apostles and Jesus and Mary. Its kinda creepy when they're in storage.

Ooh! Is it a good read? Something good for the plane? I was hoping Barbara Walter's biography would be out in paperback for me to take.

Wow I bet you will miss your DBF. That's a long time. It will be an awesome trip though. Very cool.

It is a pretty good book. I think I had VERy high expectations of it, but it does go allot deeper into the family and their background-which are allot of questions to hard to answer ina short tv episode. PLus I got it on sale at Borders with a 30% off coupon!

I forgot about that coupon?! Do you think I could use it online? I may order some for my trip!

Of course I'll miss BF. I'd like him to come with me one day, maybe once the house is finished. But asking him to spend so much time with my mother may be too much for both of us!
