For anyone who is interested, this is how our children reacted to some of the attractions at US. Their ages are 3, 6, 6 and 8 years old.

They loved Jimmy Neutron!! Older three rode this 6 times at least. 3 year old rode it twice in the stationary seats and liked popping the bubbles.

None like Shrek 4-D. Spiders did them in even with sitting with their legs up. I think everyone else screaming for that part. The pre-show keeps telling you to leave and the kids were ready to follow that advice.

A Day in the Park w/ Barney : they all enjoyed this one, even the 8 year old (don't tell anyone ;) ). The 3 year old could have gone again and again but once was enough for the older 3. Playland after is great for little ones.

Woody Woodpecker's coaster : all four loved this one, rode it many times

fievel's playland : four thumbs up

E.T. Adventure : all four wanted to ride again as soon as we got off, so we did!

Men In Black : 3 year old too short, so we child swaped which allowed the other 3 kids to ride twice as often. They rode 4 times and could have stayed all day.

didn't make it to Back to the future, they wanted to do Jimmy again!

thank you for sharing!!!! My 3 year old loved all of it!!!! Even Shrek, but he was afraid the first time. I think the more they do it, the more they like it.

Great post! This is the kind of thing that makes these boards so valuable for everyone!

I was a little surprised at the reaction to Shrek. Very interesting. It's nice to know that in our hyper-violent, shock culture kids can still be transported by simple make-believe -- even it it means being transported to the exit.;)

Glad to hear it was worth while. We are planning a return with our 8 and soon to be 6 year old girls and are hoping that Shrek and Spiderman aren't scarey for them.

Agree on the Shrek preshow.
The guy keeps berating the people, calling them prisoners, telling them to leave if they don't push all the way over. Then he tells a boring 1 liner joke and expects everyone to laugh, then berates them even more when everyone stays quiet. It's not necessary. Be nice to the people entering the room, don't call them prisoners, or tell them to leave.

It's the same problem parks have with roller coasters. They hype them as scary thrill rides, then people don't go on them. They need to call them "fun" rides.

Yeah robvia.. that is so true. They make rides seem so scarey and intense that hardly anyone wants to go on it. Every guidebook and universal make BTTF sound like the scariest most sickening ride and its really not. The thrill ride hype is still keeping me off dueling dragons and hulk.
