Hi all I have a res at Ft. Wilderness Cabins 10/16-10/23, I am trying to find out if the resort does anything special for the Halloween season. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Kim

There was a 'haunted hayride' at Fort Widerness and it was fun. The prices were $10 for an adult and less for children. I think that is allat the campgrounds for the time in October you are staying. There is Mickeys not so scary halloween party at the Magic Kingdom too.

the campground/resort dosen't make it a scheduled activity, but we have been there over halloween and we and many other campers decorate our sites. We brought pumpkins to carve, had our halloween tacky lights up, and several decorations.

I highly recomend FW in mid to late Oct. great weather. relaxed atmoshphere.

In the past they have had a pumpkin decorating contest. They show the movie and have the headless horseman ride through the area before it starts and treats for all the kids. The haunted hayride is fun also. We love it there at Halloween. It's our favorite time to go.

I guess I made a really good decision by choosing the Ft. Wilderness Cabins. People never seem to have anything bad to say about it. I am really excited about the cooking facilities, that is the only thing I really miss while on vacation, is the ability to cook a home cooked meal. No matter how good a restaurant may be there's nothing like eating your favorites in the comfort of your home in the comfort of your favorite sweats. I am looking forward to a very relaxed trip to WDW this time. We went in March and everything was so busy and rushed. What are the typical park hours in October??

I'm not sure about Ft. Wilderness but, last year we camped at a local state park on halloween night and our kids went trick-or-treating around the campground. Just about all of the campers had halloween candy to pass out, and they just loved having the kids come around. I would imagine if you will be there on halloween night, you could have your kids trick or treat at the campground.

I have been to FW close to halloween and I do remember almost every camper having up some type of halloween decorations. It was great!! Have a great time.

AHhh....FW in October!

Shorter park hours, shorter (if non-existant) lines, cooler temps (although one year we did see a lot of 90's), fun decorations.

One of my favorite times to go! Have fun!

We were there for Halloween last year and we are going this year too. It will be our first year with our own 5th wheel…can’t wait!!! Anyway, we found that there was a lot to do for Halloween, but Disney doesn’t have any schedules for things (except MNSSHP) until the week of Halloween. Downtown Disney had trick-or-treating last year on Halloween and on our way out of Fort Wilderness we found that several campers were sitting outside with buckets of candy for kids. So, we did some trick-or-treating in our loop on our way out. Boardwalk also had a big Halloween bash, too…trick-or-treating, crafts, dancing etc. It’s really a fun time of year.

We're glad to hear October is a good time to go. Thank you.
We're looking forward to low crowd & warm weather!

We camped in FW mid-October last year and had a blast. The weather was perfect for camping and many people decorated their golf carts and sites for Hallowe'en.

The Haunted Hayride was also really well done. It sells out early so you have to buy your tickets first thing in the morning.

I'm so glad to hear so many good things about the Ft. Wilderness Resort. I guess in a way it makes me feel better about the extra money we will be spending to stay there. I am so excited about all the fun things to do on the Resort. Thanks everyone.
Kim
