Fort Wilderness DVC??? Partial plans found

Since this theme is based on the California coast, I would think that it would need to be located near water. :confused3 So either the WL/FW waterfront area or perhaps another area?

You are right, but same thing goes, lets say they only built OKW and BWV, the first two WDW resorts. BCV would still be smaller and everyone from OKW would want in at 7 months...everything would basically be the same. Right now there are 7 different resorts, yes some are small, yes some are larger.....sure some people won't get what they want, but it really hasn't decreased the odds of changing resorts at 7 months, just might adjust based on trends out there.

OKW used to be bashed prior to SSR for not being near a park and how they were booking rooms elsewhere, now SSR is that resort and it has been slacking off more and more and AKV has taken some of that heat off of SSR.

I think the real trend is new owners are much more likely to "resort shop" to try out other places, before they settle down and learn where they like and where they don't like. Whenever you have a major influx of owners (look at all the BLT owners trading out at 7 months) you are going to have this affect magnified, but in the end, the same number of rooms per points exists for booking. The difference is that now there are seven choices instead of two or three. If they build another there will be 8 choices......sure you might not get the one you want, but a smaller membership with less resorts/rooms wouldn't necessarily help that.QUOTE]

I understand where you are coming from, thats why I subscribe to the following philosphy....

Buy where you have to stay.......be OK staying anywhere else......

This is why we bought the majority of our points at the Beach Club. Its our "must have" resort. Outside of that we are ok staying at the others if we make a last minute change or ressie. Although I will say we have been VERY lucky at getting what we want at 7 months.

I copied this from Screamscape. It was a rumor posted there in Sept. concerning 2 DVC resort rumors. Perhaps the FW plans we have seen, and the California Coast pdf files are in fact 2 different DVC resort ideas.

2013/2014 - New Disney DVC Resort Hotel - Rumor - (9/1/10) According to our sources, Disney engineers have been spotted going over the site, to determine just what will need to be done to remove the remains of Water Country. Others have been seen near the front of Fort Wilderness talking about plans to build new barn facilities to move the current Tri Circle D Ranch to a new location. As for the resort itself, I’ve been told that this will be a new DVC Resort, with the design being based on the old Buffalo Junction plans from years ago (minus the now defunct Fort Wilderness Railroad and other extra features), filling the gap between the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. You can find a nice article about the once proposed Buffalo Junction (aka: Wilderness Junction) concept at Progress City USA. (Note: Previous rumors about the next DVC Resort indicated they were looking at a site across from the Coronado Springs Resort that may have had some kind of California theme with a special pathway to Blizzard Beach).
(8/31/10) Screamscape has been sent an interesting rumor that claims Disney’s Tri Circle D Ranch area, the nearby beach area along the lake and the former River Country property may all be planned to be leveled sometime next summer, to clear the site to make way for a brand new mega Disney resort project. Anyone else know more about this?

At least! There are probably a few in different stages. This California coast plan surprises me how far along it is.

Please tell me though that to access it, you don't have use FW roads! The FW buses have no pull-offs so it can be very tedious to get around sometimes.
When they stop, everyone stops...at every stop. :bored::faint: We stayed there this past June and I loved the place, but trying to get around in your car is tough. For a DVC resort I would hope it would have seperate access roads.
