Hi everyone! We bought into OKW way back in '93 when they were giving away park admission until the year 2000! Due to a job loss, we ended up selling in 1998. Of course, it was a heartbreaker as I had just finished paying it off.

Fast forward to the present. My interest has again been motivated by BLT, and for giggles, (and a free $100 gift card) I took the tour; I am impressed by the layouts etc., and since I absolutely love the location and still believe this is one of the best timeshare investments around, I am seriously thinking of buying in once more.

Can anyone advise me on the current promotions available for incentives? Are there better incentives available with a higher point purchase? Any other advice at this time you would like to throw my way?

Right now, they are offering 3, 4, and 7 night cruises for new members based on the number of points with a current member's referral (so feel free to PM me if you would like to use my name for it).

In addition, you would be eligible for a $5.00 per point discount, so instead of $112/ppt, it is $107.00

I know that all the particulars can be found at dvcnews.com. I am in the process of adding on at BLT and I love it. We have always been huge fans of the Contemporary and one of the reasons we didn't get in before now is because every time I went to Disney and tried to stay someplace else, I ALWAYS ended up moving to the Contemporary, mid vacation.

I now wish I had just bought all my points there instead of buying a small resale last month but DVC was telling everyone the minimum buy in was going to 200 pts so I knew that would not work for me.

You may turn up your best incentives onsite at WDW ( purchasers on DCL
seem to often get great incentives too; not sure if that may apply as well to Port Caneveral(maybe there is a sales location in the terminal ?) or at DoorWay to Dreams outside of Chicago ) and sometimes a good incentive may be result of a referral from a member.

Sandi, I appreciate the pixie dust and I will definitely check out the information you both gave.

LOL, 86 visits really isn't that many, if you figure it's been 37 years since the first visit! (Some years it was way more than that and others had no visits at all. The "way more than that" part of it was after I moved to FL 5 years ago). Just love my Disney!

The cruise part of the incentive unfortunately isn't of interest to me since I'm a travel agent specializing in cruises. Money talks but with Disney, it is what it is!!

Don't know how the cruise works, does the member have to be on the reservation? - maybe you could book cruise for someone else (rent out the cruise reservation like members rent out reservations using Developer Points over on the Rent/Trade board)

Sorry - I don't know anything about current incentives but WOW - I didn't realise that original members had free park admission for all those years! I was desperate to have a look at DVC back then but DH wasn't interested - I could kick myself that I wasn't more persuasive!!
