Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

 to Honu & Sandy. I'll be thinking of you!

On a side note: I'm traveling for work and the idiots next to me are playing with the connecting door. There's a deadbolt on it, but considering I'm by myself, it scared the youknowwhat outta me. If they start up again I'm gonna have to be the grouchy old lady who calls the front desk

Years ago, I traveled 100% with my job. I was in San Antonio and could not stay at my usual hotel, ended up in a La Quinta by the airport. It was terrible. Someone started messing with the connecting door in the middle of the night and I just laid there paralyzed (they finally stopped after about 5 minutes). I hope you do call the desk, Spark, people were crazy 20 years ago, but they are even nuttier now.

oh, well crap, i guess i will if i have to. :rotfl2: maybe i can find a pic. of one already put together somewhere. the metal parts of this suckah are HEAVY so now i'm pouting and playing on the computer.

wow...good find!!!! didn't purchase anything at hancock's...what i NEED is drapery and upholstery fabric (i make the drapes and have the oh so wonderful ramirez's upholstery company do the other stuff), but as usual, i still have purchased not a thing. i'm slackin'.
Um, yeah. I want to see what it looks like.

The first fabric is a turquoise color, the second is a beige, the third is white and mint gingham type.

hey, if it's actually two doors and not just one, try cutting a page-size face out of a magazine and tape it to the door...right about where your face would be if you were standing there. maybe they'll scream. :teeth:

Oh Honu - I am so sorry. I will step up the prayers for you. You know, you absolutely amaze me. Your strength, courage and positivity are so inspiring to me. I don't think I could go through everything you've gone through with your positive outlook. Hugs to you.

Thanks! I really appreciate it.

I'm sooooooooo lazy today. Got to get outside and do some yardwork. I put myself on a semi-permanent ban from watching the news. Sigh.

Have a great day today everyone!!

The news will drive you nuts these days, eh?

Hi, everyone! :goodvibes
I haven't been on here in a long time, so I thought I would come see what everyone is up to. Been busy with school. I'm working on a lesson plan about coral reefs. I might put a Finding Nemo spin on it ;). It has to be geared toward a specific grade level, but we present it to our classmates as if they were that grade. Fun!

That totally sounds like fun! I'd love to that unit. Remember, fish are friends, not food! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Honu, I am sorry that you are facing this obstacle. I know you had such high hopes, and you've maintained such a wonderful and positive attitude. Hang in there, and lean on us for strength.:grouphug:

Thanks a bunch! You guys are great. I'm not sure what I'd do without y'all. How are you doing by the way? Feeling much better after your surgery?

anyhoo.....i'm thinkin' this thread will get a little busier starting...oh, i dunno...maybe today?

i wanna say something, in case a nice person is able to read this:

"friends" who are not able to treat a person with compassion when they are going through tough times are not friends at all.

Amen to that! I totally agree.

I am so sorry, Honu, about the possible second surgery. You are such brave girl; I wish I could send the real McDreamy to visit you?:)

Thanks! I wish the real McDreamy could come visit too. Although I'm not sure that would be good for my heart rate or my BP. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

It's like I told my surgeon, I'm not sure I want him to find something on my MRI or not. If he does find something, I'm in for another surgery and the chance of losing all pituitary function increases dramatically. If he doesn't find anything I end up with the adrenal surgery, and I may lose hockey forever, but there's really no chance of ever having Cushing's again. So, honestly, I'm not sure which direction to go.

Honu--I will be praying for you. I know how hard this has been. You are a very strong person and I do admire how much you have endured. I know things will get better for you. You deserve it. Continuing good thoughts for you.
No news for my husband-the drs still don't know why he isn't getting better. They don't think the cancer has returned but its a wait and see situation. Will keep going back for his MRI until they can decide what is going on.

Love and Prayers
Sandy

Thanks Sandy! I've been keeping good thoughts for your husband too.

Have you ever had his Growth Hormone levels checked? I know this is kind of off the wall, but if for some reason that's low, he's not going to be able to heal as well as if it were higher. It might be something that could help him.

I'm sorry to hear that honu. I haven't been on this board for a while, and I've been wondering how you've been. I'll certainly keep you in my prayers, and just want you to know that I think about you often.

Thanks Teresa! Much appreciated.

so i've been putzing around in the garage today, under the guise of tidying up. well, i actually DID finally accomplish something in the way of slight tidiness, and was able to get to the box which holds my several-year-old alice in wonderland bench. i guess i purchased this about four years ago from disney.com, and i never put it together.

am working on it now. yay!

Way cool! I want to see pics!!!!!!

Wow, honu, that stinks. :guilty: You're doing well, though, and even though you cry you still manage to get through it with your head up.

Thanks Tink! I'm working really hard to stay in the positive. Some days it's hard... But y'all cheer me up!

Guess that means you won't be cleaning my windows then, eh?
And I still haven't managed to get over to Sonic yet. I think I'm going Sunday after church.

I'm going to Sonic this weekend too I think. I finally found out where it is. Yay!!!!!!!

Hmm, no window cleaning yet. But I'll let you know when! :thumbsup2

I went to the thrift store today to see if they have fabric; sometimes they do. And guess what? They were having a 50% off sale! So I got some fabric, enough to make three outfits for convention for around $5 total. Yay me!
I'm going Thursday to get the patterns and elastic.

Woohoo!!!!!!! Way cool!!!!

 to Honu & Sandy. I'll be thinking of you!

Thanks!

Oooh, want us to come help you scare the bejeezus out of the next door neighbors?

Okay, wonder, where is the picture of that bench!

dammit.

k...i just got out of the shower....but i'll TRY to take a pic. that was not the easiest thing i've ever put together. and i accidentally drilled a tiny hole through one of the seat slats, so i have to putty that in.

i'll go try to take that photo. wish me luck.

i'd like to announce that i was very productive today, even though it was mostly boy-type work. i had a shed built last autumn (10' x 12' x 12')...i love it 'cause it looks like a little cottage. i never put anything in it, so today i vacuumed it and put in a bunch of the yard stuff. then i cleaned part of the garage for real, instead of just shifing things from one side to another, sorted through a bunch of xmas stuff, and put together that bench. in between all those important tasks i was watching events on the internet in wonder. :scared1:

k...going to do the photo thing now...

[haven't taken picture yet]

how many people here coordinated a 1200 person global conference at wdw at the dolphin and in the middle of the night, while in PJs, had a japanese couple enter the room and refuse to leave so that you actually had to start making some noise to get attention so that somebody would call the house detective?

anybody?

anybody?

[sidetracked once again so no pic yet]

i'll tell ya what, it's pretty cute, but i noticed the cast iron part that's in the back of the bench, which shows alice looking at the white rabbit, gives the impression that alice is picking her teeth. i'll be certain to try to capture that for ya.

I am back to 100%:thumbsup2 Which means that I'm cooking all the meals and doing all the laundry.:laundy: I was getting a bit spoiled. :teeth:

No, and that sounds weird. How'd they get in your room?!

Stop procrastinating and take the picture.

Goodness, I hope you were wearing pj's that matched!

Sounds like a great story - please fill us in! [I once coordinated a workshop that had 24 attendees - thought I would pull my hair out before it actually materialized....so :worship::worship::worship::worship: for coordinating something THAT spectacular!]

I do love a woman who is conscious of her dental hygiene. Go Alice!

Okay, you win. One of those Tennessee Williams, STELLA, kind of moments, huh? Were these members of the conference group or just a couple of tourists that wanted to make new friends?

it started quietly, but my voice quickly became louder and louder as they refused to leave and began putting their suitcases in MY closet. it was sorta like, "STELLA!!!!":teeth:

they were part of the conference, which was the hilarious part, 'cause they had to come see me for all their conference stuff. HA HA! i get that they were tired, but COME ON!!!! the front desk was quite apologetic for giving a dupicate key to them.

wonder, that bench is really sweet. Your talents never cease to amaze me: carpentry and Japanese tourist wrangling on the same page.:)

I would have said NOSE picking, wonder, not teeth picking. Looks like she's digging for salty nose nuggets.

I would have asked the hotel to give me a complimentary night. Or for a free upgrade they could have my room. :teeth:
