Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

I would have said NOSE picking, wonder, not teeth picking. Looks like she's digging for salty nose nuggets.

I would have asked the hotel to give me a complimentary night. Or for a free upgrade they could have my room. :teeth:

well, ya know...:rotfl2:

my room at the conference was free anyway. you should have seen the two story "suite" that came with a butler my boss stayed in. SHEESH! ben the butler at the dolphin...what a kewl guy.

A butler?! Wow!

Our church denomination's convention is the last week of May, hence the reason we're going to Anaheim. We could have stayed at a 3-4 star hotel for a reduced rate but chose to stay at a hotel a block away for half the price. :thumbsup2
It's got a pool and hot tub.

I have not stayed at the Dolphin for years, but I loved the over-the-top of the architecture. Michael Graves is a true example of America: WDW hotels and Target tea kettles.

he's brilliant! the theme of that conference was "innovation" (i know...whatev...engineers; not my choice), and i tried to get graves as our keynote speaker, but he's booked two years in advance. my boss didn't think anybody ever needed to plan ahead.

this is the guy who was disappointed to find out the shuttle wasn't launching while we were there, and wanted me to "call nasa about that". :confused3um....k...., "hi, uh, nasa? yeah...hi...wonder here. listen...my boss is none to thrilled that you cancelled the shuttle launch in may..."

What planet is this guy from? The sad thing is, I bet NASA does receive weird calls like that.

Graves as a speaker would have been fabulous!

he's a physicist. i chalk it up to that...to him nothing was ever impossible.

i agree 'bout graves...if anybody is innovative, it is he.

(i own the lint roller he designed for target. :teeth:)

Yeah. :cool1: We're debating whether or not to go ahead and get AP's. We're going to be moving soon (we hope!) and would be buying them anyway. We'll see. I'm not holding my breath that we'll go.

don't think you'll go while you're there for the conference? well, since you'll be living near there, i suppose that's okay. it's pretty hot this time of year anyway. you could STILL go to downtown disney, even if you didn't go into the parks.

they used to have a deal for evenings...after some certain time (6 p.m. maybe) it'd cost a lot less to get in, 'cause it was only for the evening. any chance o' dat?

i'm all about the APs. love 'em.

No, evenings are not an option. We won't get back to the hotel until after 11 pm. We have a few hours of free time in the afternoon so if we go the APs that would be when we'd go; also after convention is over. It ends the evening of the 28th and our reservations are until the 30th.

Whatever happened elsewhere, I'm loving our newly fast-moving thread....nice to see everyone again.

And wonder, there really is no end to your talents...but I will have to agree with Tink as to where Alice's finger seems to be picking....I guess the bench carvers caught her in a candid moment.

Tink, I do hope you get to go -- I hear that APs can be paid for on an installment plan...if that helps....

Wonder, are you just over the moon at the new Alice movie Tim Burton is coming out with? Or will this be too non-Alice-y for you? When I read about this in the D23 magazine, I instantly thought of you.

G'night!

I am back to 100%:thumbsup2 Which means that I'm cooking all the meals and doing all the laundry.:laundy: I was getting a bit spoiled. :teeth:

Glad to hear you're back to 100%!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Seems I'm going to be out of commission a bit longer, otherwise I'd come over and do the laundry. You really don't want me to cook... Trust me. I cook as well as William Hung from American Idol sings.

YAY!!!! didja make any swedish meatballs? :teeth:

I think I'm going to go to Ikea this weekend and get some Swedish meatballs. I love 'em. They've got the best ones with the lingonberry sauce. Yum!!!!!!!!!

So, it's official. Got the news from the endocrinologist tonight. We're back to square 1. I'm supposed to wean off my hydrocortisone and start retesting. He says my hormone levels are just going to continue to rise the farther out we get from surgery. If they're this high now, they're going to go sky high the longer we go.

I cried all the way through Biggest Loser tonight. I'm so happy for those people, but I wish that was me. They're all doing the things that I want to do. They're running marathons and doing triathlons. The hardest part is knowing that I have to wait longer to do those things. This surgery was supposed to help unlock the doors that could allow me to free myself from this body that I'm trapped in.

I know I have to dig deep and summon up that strength to keep going. This is my marathon. It's not the marathon I thought I'd be running at 30, almost 31, but this is what I have to do to get to the marathon I want to run, the NYC marathon. And when I cross that finish line in Central Park, I'm going to be wearing blue and yellow symbolizing the monster that I crushed.

Honu, we are all so proud of you. Your bravery inspires us all. I know you will be doing that Marathon, too. I am just waiting for all the pix!

you've got the strength to get through this; you've shown the world that already. you can do this. hang in there  we're here for anything you need.

So you cook as well as I do!
Hey, someday we'll all be cheering you on as you cross that finish line. I'll be waiting with some cherry vanilla dr pepper. ;)

Me, too.

They can, yes. It would be $138 for a down payment and two-three days later the first monthly payment of $53 (for both of us) would come out. We'd get the one with no blackout dates.
