I've been on a 3 week tour of the Western US and haven't been on the boards much for the past month or so, so I'm completely confused over BLT:confused3 Is this referring to the Contemporary or something different? I've tried to read posts and figure this out on my own, but haven't had any success.

Bay Lake Tower (BLT) the name of the not confirmed DVC Resort next to the Contemporary.

Just curious. Did you drive out west or fly? I'm looking into driving out west probably as far as Yellowstone and wonder how long it would take comfortably.

From a few trips as a teen (From IL instead of PA) A comfortable extended driving trip would be about 400 miles in a day, which meant our grand vacations out west took a full 3 weeks (There , visit and back)

Anything shorter than 3 weeks and you are driving commando style

We drove from KY. We first went to Minneapolis, then to Custer SD, Yellowstone, Redwoods, San Francisco, Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion and then took three days to get back home. Some days we drove for 12-14 hours (including stops). It was a grueling 21 day adventure, but a great trip nonetheless. Our kids 15,12 & 8 didn't enjoy seeing all of the National/State Parks near as much as DH & I did, but hopefully some day they'll appreciate it. I think my husband's secret ambition is to be a Park Ranger. He used to think about retiring and working for Disney - now he looks at the NPS for future jobs!!!!

Thanks for the translation for BLT - last I heard it was Kingdom Towers - totally missed out on the name change!

When I was in collage, I worked a Yellowstone National Park during the '85 and '86 summers. I worked at upper Old Faithful Hamilton Gift Shop. It was a great experience and hope my kids will work there for one summer when they grow up. At the time, Hamilton Gift shops hired mostly collage students and retirees. We ate with those on the same shift, family style. I don't know how it is run now. I'm planning a trip next year so I can show my kids and DH my "old haunts" It was a great experience and something to look into.
