Bummer! Mine is more expensive than almost ALL of these! It is really making me not want to go since we are missing all the deals. Due to living overseas and school schedules, we just miss the summer discounts. We are in USA June 19-August 1. Plus we have three kids. All the things I've priced are at least $8000. Seeing all these $2-3K vacation packages makes me want to wait til we move back.:sad2:

Dont worry, we ended at 14 k before airfare, that is an additional 3,5k
so just figure how I feel..... reading this tread makes me slightly depressed.
But we had to go when we do, so it just has to be a bit longer until next time.
There is a 25% discount out there for some of the days, but not sure if I can call and add that now?
:rolleyes1

Last year was our 7th Family visit to Orlando since 2002
In July 2002 we came to visit Disney on a 'one-time holiday of a lifetime' trip and fell in love.
Came back August 2004 - August 2005 - August 2007 - Xmas 2008 - Xmas 2009 - Aug 2010

August 14th - 29th 2010

2 x Adults
2 x 'Chidren' (now aged 21 yrs & 16 yrs! - so basically 4 x adults as far as budgeting for everything!!!)

Flights from London Gatwick to MCO - US Airways via Charlotte
£2,831 ($4,416) for the four of us.
14 x days Car Hire - Intermediate SUV (got a great deal from Virgin Atlantic)
£342 ($538)
15 x nights 2 x Bed Villa at Disney Saratoga Springs Resort
£3,735 ($5,827) - included 14 x day Disney Ultimate Passes and FREE D.D.P.
Again - a great deal booked thru Disney UK

Total cost = £6,908.00 or $10,776.00

A lot of money ?...........Yes
Worth it ?...........Absolutely
Would do it again? ......In a heartbeat (if I can afford it!):thumbsup2

We ate our way through @$3,000 of food and had a blast not having to order the cheapest items on the menu for once!

Unfortunately in the current economic climate and having to stick to school holiday periods - I am finding it very hard to find any flights (even indirect) for under £850 each ($5300..!!!!).
The same Disney deal for SSR has also gone up by around £1,000.
The same holiday as last year will cost over £9,500 this year - almsot $15,000 - so we may have to think of something different this year.:sad2:

Milly

Poly 14 nights CL
3 adults 1 child
DDP, 10 days parc ticket with hopper
No discount, no free dining (end of easter..maybee, no idea else)
$14.468
before air at $ 3.400
Total $ 17.868.

This is a first trip to Florida and the Poly had been a dream since forever.
Something tells me though that planning around discounted weeks could have been smarter. Well, next time

Is that $18,000 US Dollars? :scared1: Just when I thought $5500 was high. I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of your trip.

Yeah, went a it overboard with CL and DDP, but we are deff. going to enjoy every minute of it. With 20 hours travel time, 14 in air, it is not something we plan on every year

I guess you cannot compare. Yes our vacation is 2100.00 with dining and tickets but we are staying in a value for 8 nights during value season. We are hoping to upgrade to a moderate which would put us around the 2600.00 mark. My kids are still considered kids. Most of the higher priced ones are staying at a Deluxe with DXDP. Make a huge diffrence. Plus I'm sure the cost to fly here is just :scared1:.

Three people Me, DW, DS
Not the deal we got last february (4/3 CSR for $1544 including park tix). We did the 4/3 the year before at POR for $1475. :cloud9:

This year- Feb 23 to Mar 2
Two nights room only 25% off at CSR $306.

Five nights Swan $189 Nurse rate, which comes out to $1128 including tax and resort fee.

Doing the park hoppers $911

$2345 total, food OOP
We're pretty happy

I am glad there is someone on this thread that is spending more money than me. I was starting to have buyers remorse.

7 nights at the Wilderness Lodge
4/30-5/7
Me, DW, DS (10), DD (7)
park hopper, no waterparks
DxDDP
Travel Protection
Bunk beds and Woods view
Airfare not included

$5700:surfweb:

It's expensive. We realize it. It's Disney. What are you going to do? It is also my 1st time going and the kids, so we knew we were going to take a little hit.pluto:
