I actually upgraded us to Deluxe Dining and from ASMo to CBR when the cast member told me we could get discounts since my husband is retired military.

Also, we are getting our tickets at Shades of Green. They are having a special for active/retired military from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013 for 4 day park hoppers for $156 each!!

With the discounts and getting tickets through SoG, we are actually saving about $230 over our original package . . .

We are driving down from MD, so we'll be staying at a hotel for one night on the way down and the way back (about $250), plus gas (probably about $150).

I'm still trying to decide if I want to pick up Universal tickets yet, I figure even a quick trip down there for the day from our resort is going to end up costing me at least $400 so I may pass. Its hard to pass up a butter beer though.
