we need to fly to orlando in April...I was waiting for southwest flights, but no discounted fares displayed today...does anyone travel other airlines out of Albany, Binghamton, Syracuse area with some suggestions...so many searches I have done show fares of 600 to 1000 per person...PLEASE!!!!

Have you tried Transmeridian out of Syracuse? A friend & her family flew them non-stop to Orlando's Sanford Aiprort Thanksgiving week & had no problems. Same family has also flown non-stop on southwest out of Albany to Orlando. Good luck!

I don't know if you'd go as far as Rochester - but, you can always try Jetblue, AirTran, or Independence Air. They are all relatively inexpensive. DH and I just purchased our AirTran airfare (Jan 8th - 15th) for $263.40 R/T for both of us. Not bad!

Also - when in April are you going? Is it one of the busy Spring Break weeks? That may make a difference, too.

Leaving ALB on sat 4/16 had you leaving at 8pm arriving around midnight and missing all of Sat at WDW

Leaving on the Fri the 15th at 8:10 on Delta get into MCO at 1:11 am on sat.
Stay at MCO Hyat or at All Stars.

Same thing with the last day it's less to move to all stars on 4/23 for one night leave either first thing Sunday 9:30 am or enjoy anothe magial day and leave at 6:15 PM on Delta for $396 EACH--- $1585 total
the flights from ALB for you exact dates were crazy high, it's less to book 2 extra hotel stays.

From Syracuse

Leave on Sat 4/16 at 6am on US AIR arrive Orlando 10:36 am not too bad, leave Orlando on Sat 4/23 on US AIR at 7:20 pm
arrive SYR at 11:55 PM A full Disney Day $401 EACH, about $1607 ---total

Neither are bargins, but are much lower then you found . Act quickly before the seats fill up as others choose to vacation that week or the prices go even higher.

Good Luck!!

I've flown Independence out of Stewart and I know that they fly out of Albany and other upstate airports. You'll have to connect in Dulles. If you don't mind a connecting flight, they're a good choice.

we ended up getting flight from Philadelphia...Southwest NS...with 2 kids I hate a connecting flight and everything was so late otherwise it would get us in after 9pm! It is spring break week and we have ressies at Poly for 4/16-23rd Iguess everyone from the Albany area will be heading south...plenty of cheaper seats were still available in Phily

we just bought tix for Independence Air for January - 155 pp - out of
Albany

We fly Jetblue from Rochester. I've also heard good things about Independence air and Airtran. Both have good prices. Indendependence Air recently had round trips for under $150.

I've also flown out of Hartford, CT. SWA & Delta both fly from there. Aslo Song airlines.

Living in Syracuse for 4 years, many times I found cheaper flights out of Buffalo, Rochester, and Albany than Syracuse. Syracuse, as a general rule, does not have cheap flights.

I am from upstate NY as well and usually fly out of Syracuse. All the flights were so expensive that I found, and when SWA released their fares for Albany to Orlando only the most expensive ones were available. I ended up getting a flight out of Binghamton for two people for 499 total round trip. Check out some of the smaller airports, if you are willing to drive a bit you can save hundreds on airfare. If I hadn't found that Binghamton flight I was actually going to fly out of Watertown-It would have been cheaper than flying out of Syracuse and super close to home!! Our flight leaves Saturday Apr 16 and gets back Sunday Apr 24. I would check it out if I were you.

Although I'm worried about this now due to all the talk that they may not be flying by April..... We got two round trip DIRECT flights out of Syracuse with USAir for $433. April 23-April 30. ($184/person plus tax)
Hopefully we will not have any problems. We were very happy to get a direct flight!!!!!

Have you tried Stewart Airforce base airport? I sure wouldn't want to drive to Philly from the Catskills to catch a plane. Seems to me Newark or JFK would have been a better choice.

Southeast went out of business. Independence is your best bet for reasonable fares from Stewart.

How did you find flights out of Binghamton? I can't find a web site for them and I have no idea what airlines fly out of there. Binghampton is only a little over an hour drive for me...

Other options for me include albany, syracuse, and Newburg...having one heck of a time finding decent price for Feb break 2/19-2/6... :sad1: :confused3

We are flying Northwest from Buffalo to Orlando on 2/16 - 2/26 for $200 pp including tax. I just checked the other day and there was an airfare for aroudn $240 from BUF to MCO, I believe it was flying out on 2/16 and returning on 2/25.
