For those who have purchased 1 day base tickets and have AP...

have any of you gotten to renewal yet and wanted/tried to apply your 1 day base ticket (from purchasing the dining plan) to your renewal?

We're coming to the world for Easter week (4/8-4/14) and we have APs but I think dining will work better for us than the AP rate and paying cash (so much less worrying about what and how much). However, I don't want to have the 1 day base tickets for all of us and find out at renewal that I can't apply them.

Also, we have APs purchased with the DVC discount. As DVC members, we also get a renewal discount. I guess I'm also wondering if I will be able to get both the DVC renewal discount and apply the 1 day pass cost to the new AP.

Anyone able to answer either question?

I was told you can NOT use the 1-day ticket towards a renewal. ONLY for a full-price AP.

that you cannot apply the 1 day base ticket to a renewal of an Annual Pass?

I've seen several people suggest purchasing the 1 day base in order to get the MYW dining, then holding the ticket to be applied to renewal. Can this not be done? Or is the problem really applying the 1 day base to the renewal ALONG with my DVC discount?

Please, can someone who has actually done this let me know?

As it was explained to me you cannot apply the 1 day ticket towards an AP renewal, only towards the purchase of a new AP. I didn't question it because I don't plan to renew my AP anyway. I planned my next trip to fall a week before my AP exprires and I don't expect to return for another 8-10 months, so I'll be purchasing a new AP, applying my 1 day ticket towards that.
