For those that have done paper and digital scrapbooking

Which one do you like better? Do you think that digital is less expensive even though you have to buy the software, etc.?

I don't know that I can actually claim to have done paper scrapbooks; mostly I collected supplies. I do still plan to do all of my older pictures that way since they are already printed.

I started doing digital this summer and have already finished a book; I printed 3 copies for $90 with 45 pages. This is a bound book so it is completed done. The kits are much less expensive than paper supplies; I probably spend too much at first on kits not really knowing what I'd use. Now with freebies; specials etc I don't spend much. I've found a few designers that I really like but still only buy when it's on sale or I know exactly what I'm using it for. One nice thing is you can shop right when you need it so less guessing.

I've been a paper scrapper forever, and I started digi scrapping in May. I think digi is still much cheaper. I could easily spend over $100 on one visit to the scrapbook store. I've only spent about that much in total on digi scrapping (I did already have Photoshop, but whatever program you get would just be a one time investment, and well worth it.)

I haven't paper scrapped since before I went to Disney in Sept. I've just been really busy or sick, but I definitely need to get back to it. Even though I love digi scrapping, and have been doing a LOT of LOs, I still feel like a paper scrapper at heart. I love them both for different reasons.

I do both and I find digi a lot easier and cheaper. However I much prefer the look of paper.

Here's my 2 cents worth!

Depending upon your scrapping style, it basically comes out to the equal amount of money spent on either digi or traditional. You can be frugal or not either way, but page-per-page the costs are about the same. With digi the big expense comes when you purchase your final album, where with paper the costs are more spread around.

I find I will purchase a digi-kit to use only for one page, just like finding the perfect stickers/papers. Half of the fun is the hunt!

I do both, although I haven't done any paper scrapping since this summer. I will go about 90% digital after I catch up with all of my photos that were taken in film. The biggest bonus about digital is that the "mess" is virtual and that the albums are smaller.

I take a lot of photos at just about every event, so if I kept on paper scrapping, my kids would eventually need a forklift to get their albums out of the house! I can fit more photos per page using digi, too. But I will still keep paper albums for lots of the memorabilia, etc., that I don't want to scan for the digi pages. Who says you can't do both at the same time?
