For those that fly out of MSP airport?

I am booking my flights thru 2 different airlines...possibly... ( I want better flight times). My question is for those that fly out of Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.

If I fly Sun Country there, it is listed as flying out of Humphry Terminal, and returning I am flying NWA. That flies into Lindberg. If I park at the Humphry terminal, how hard is it to get to my car when we get back at the Lindberg Terminal?

Not very hard. There is a train that connects the two terminals. Humphry is the "economy parking" terminal, so lots of people park there when they fly out of Lindberg. Walking to the train and time on the train should not take more than 10 - 15 min.

aweome, thanks for the quick reply. We are only going to be at WDW for 5 days, so I needed to get an early time there and a late time leaving! Thanks!

OK, a little nit-picky, but I have to correct the spelling of our terminals! The Lindbergh is named for Charles Lindbergh who was raised here in MN, and then became the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic. The Humphrey terminal is named for Hubert H. Humphrey, former Minneapolis Mayor, US Senator, and Vice President. On the other hand, the names don't mean that much even to the Metropolitan Airports Commission...Not sure when you are flying, but be aware that they are in process of changing the common names of the terminals to 'Terminal 1' (for the Lindbergh) and 'Terminal 2' for the Humphrey.

Also, your NWA flight will probably be a Delta flight, as they are currently changing all of those since the merger.

But, there is still a light rail connection between the terminals!

Not sure where you live in MN, but you may want to consider parking offsite. We have flown in/out of the different terminals at MSP and find it really easy (not to mention cheaper) to park at one of the offsite parking vendors. We use EZ Park since we come up from near Rochester. But there is also Park-N-Go and Park-N-Fly near the Mall of America...there may be others too. They drop you off right at the door of HHH for departure and then will pick you up at the Lindbergh terminal pickup area by baggage claim and take you right to your car. Not that it's terribly hard to take the train back to HHH, but it's a little less work hauling luggage and a little cheaper to park offsite.

You are smart to use two different airlines, but be aware that your NWA/Delta flight will probably change both times and connections several times before you actually take the trip. We have been so frustrated with that ever since the merger started.

I do agree that parking at the Park and Fly is the best deal. You will spend less for parking and the shuttle is VERY easy to take, and your car will be very secure there. It takes about 5 minutes to get from the park and fly lot to either terminal. I'm also sad that they have changed our unique terminal names to generic numbers, but I guess it's a sign of the times.

We used to love the NWA schedules where we could fly out to MCO early in the morning and fly home to MSP late in the day. Delta has now made that impossible, and the Sun Country return times are not good. We have decided we are going to go Sun Country all the way next time and just plan on leaving a day early and planning to get our extra day that way.

We did this last XMAS. But we had a 12 person group, dropped everyone and the bags off at Humphrey-then 2 of us drove over to Lindbergh and parked. We wanted to get home quickly because of college starting for a couple kids after the break. Anyway, as mentioned-we just walked over to the train platform (very cool by the way) and jumped on and it was a short ride (no charge). However, when we got off the train-it was a fairly far walk through the parking garage to the terminal-and it was freezing, and we forgot coats. By the way-it did take about a half hour to accomplish this, so make sure you have time. It is cheaper parking at Humphrey-just depends if you want to save time before, or after you return.

Yes, that's an option too, but the park and fly is still cheaper and actually probably takes less time. We left our coats in the car, so once we got on the heated bus, it was a quick walk to our car at the park and fly (off site), since they drop you right at your car with your claim ticket.
