We are doing the DxDP in Sept b/c of free dining and so we're trying restaurants we haven't done before. On our return-to-MK-for-evening-EMH-night, I made a Narcoossee's ressie. I can see it doesn't get a ton of love on this board. :)

I like any excuse to go to the GF, and I always thought the setting looked fun. We like fish - and we figured since we're on the DxDP, I can have the lobster if I want it. Our other choices for MK area resorts that currently have available times are 1900 PF, Citricos, GF Cafe, Kona, and the Wave. I get the feeling Citrico's is better, but the Mediterranean menu just doesn't appeal to us completely.

So - for those of you who like Narcoossee's, what did you like eating there?

We absolutley looove Narcoosees. From what ive read about Citricos, i believe the actual food there to be more "fine dining" than Narcoosees, but all i can say is our meal which included the lobster (and the salmon) was out of this world.
The one thing that Narcoosees has over many other 2 ts restaurants is their position. You have windows all around looking onto either Bay Lake or MK, and if you can dine there in the evening you can walk onto the balcony and watch Wishes (they pipe the music in)then watch the electric parade on the lake:goodvibes
What made Narcoosees our favouite signiture was the whole dining experience not just the food.Dont read too many reviews, we all have different expectations. We love the Si-Fi diner, and that doesnt get much love either;)

I'm one who didn't like it (I had the filet). My husband had the lobster and said it was very good (he didn't care for the haricots verts but enjoyed the potato gratin). We both enjoyed the almond crusted cheesecake for dessert. :goodvibes

Love Narcoosee's.. there was a period with a certain head Chef that we did not care for but they are back to their roots and we like it again... wish it were not a 2 credit dining plan but then they would have to dumb down the menu and that would not do either.

I remember seeing this before about the filet - that worries me I suppose, since DH would likely get the surf & turf. Was it overcooked? Undercooked? too small?

Maybe he will go with fish after all though - that is a large part of the attraction anyway!

No surprise here, i like the Surf and turf.

Also, my sister is usually a picky eating, and she looooves the food at Narcoossee's.

DH and I love Narcoossee's, it is our favorite signature restaurant, and although I know others don't like it - that doesn't bother us. You can read two reviews from our last trip in the report in my signature. But the basic gist of it is:

DH loves, loves, loves their crabcake appetizer. He tried crabcakes at every restaurant we visited on our last trip, and hands down Narcoossee's was the favorite. He also is a big fan of the surf & turf. We know that the tail is frozen, but it is still tasty. They will take the tail out of the shell for you if you ask. He asked the second time, only because when we had dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse earlier that week, we shared steak and lobster, because the whole lobster was removed from its shell.

I had the crab encrusted fish - the first two times we went in 2009 & 2010, it was flounder (delicious) and this year it was mahi mahi, also delicious! I had the crabcake on our second night at Narcoossee's on our last trip (yup, we love it so much we added a second dinner there!) and I have to agree, it's a very good crabcake. The second night we were there I had the filet, and it was done perfectly, it was not dried out at all and I like my filet medium to medium well.

They also carry my favorite wine, King Estate Pinot Noir from Oregon, which I can't seem to find in PA anywhere, and of course I can't get wine shipped here either. I have a state wine store working on it for me, finally!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

I like Narcoossees, but it is probably my least favorite of all the signatures. I actually really liked the filet mignon there, the lobster, not so much. My favorite things I've had there are the crab cake app and the almond-crusted cheesecake.

The cut was somewhat small, but it was very tender. They overcooked it IMO, but what made me dislike it so much was they smothered it in some kind of extremely overpowering onion red-wine sauce. It was VERY strong and very salty. If I had known that, I would have asked for the filet without it and would have enjoyed it a lot more. The rest of the meal was just as bad though.. my hariocts vert tasted like they were burnt and the potatoes I got were sooo salty it tasted like I was eating a salt block. (Of course that seems to be a WDW thing.. we had lots of overly salted meals there. This coming from someone who loves salt too. ;)) That said, DH liked his meal more and we had a window seat and an amazing view of Wishes. :goodvibes

My wife and I ate at Narcoossee's on our first wedding anniversary in 2009, and we both agree that it was among the most special experiences that we have ever had anywhere on property!

The menus were customized in advance to include our names, our wedding date and a congratulatory message (we still have the menu!). The waiter brought us free Mickey swirly straws for our beverages, which we thought was an inexpensive but nonetheless highly appreciated gesture. Then, we were provided with free glow cubes in our drinks.

Upon ordering, we each made special requests, which were granted without discussion. The food arrived within a reasonable timeframe and was the perfect temperature and doneness. She had the filet mignon, and I ordered the surf and turf.

Incidentally, I substituted the scallops for the lobster, and it was excellent! Before being seated, one of the chefs introduced us to Shelly the Lobster. We learned that lobsters have no pain sensors; instead they only sense pressure. Also, the screaming noise one hears when they are dunked in boiling water is water instantly turning to steam and then escaping from their shells. However, though this discussion was fascinating, I just couldn't bring myself to eat lobster that night. I had made eye contact with Shelly, and so it just didn't seem right!

Of course, the most pleasant surprise of the night came during dessert. My wife ordered strawberry shortcake, and they had spelled out "Happy Anniversary" in strawberry sauce! How cool is that!

I like Narcoossee's more than Flying Fish, although I personally don't recommend the surf n' turf. I liked the crab-crusted flounder a lot, and many people rave about the calamari, crab cake, and almond-crusted cheesecake.

The atmosphere is wonderful. There's nothing like being right on the lagoon and watching the fireworks or the water pageant.

It's so sad watching those lobsters walking around on the counter before being turned into somebody's dinner! That said, it was a memorable experience.

My family ate at Narcoossee's last December and it was our favorite meal. We had the calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. The calamari was really tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The crab cakes were also nice a crispy on the outside with a very yummy filling.

I had the lobster, which was cooked perfectly. It wasn't rubbery. The flavor was great. Like a PP, I wasn't that enamored with the gratin, but I'm not a big lover of cheese. I would definitely order the lobster again. My Mom had the filet and she said it was the best one she had on the trip. My Dad had the surf and turf. He also really liked it and didn't say anything about the portions being to small.

For dessert we had the sorbet and the chocolate mousse. The mousse was really smooth and creamy. I especially liked the crispy chocolate plate decorations.

Finally, because it was so cold outside, no one was on the balcony, so we had a great view of Wishes from inside the restuarant. They dim the lights and pipe in the music.

We are planning to return to Narcoossee's on our next trip!

Another fan here! I love Citricos and Narcoossee's for different reasons. Narcoosee's has the whole lobster, which you can't get anywhere else on property. I've always had it done perfectly. DH loves the filet and DD loves whichever fish special they have. Their desserts are top notch IMO as well.

Citricos seemed a bit out of my comfort range being more of the Mediterranean flair but it was delish and the service there was the best we ever had. I was put at ease quickly.

Trying Narccoossee for the first time next month. For those that have watched the fireworks from MK while at dinner, can I ask what time your reservations were for?

I could have had an 8:45, which I know would have been great for the fire works viewing at 10 pm. but such a late time for a somewhat heavy meal so I chose the earlier option, 7:50 time. I imagine we will finish before the fireworks, huh? Thanks.

It's just always consistent. We have been eating there for 10 years and never had a bad dinner. Great fish!

Have had the filet many times. I'm a rare guy. Always cooked perfect. I don't look at size of meals cause it's a fine dining restaurant. Would rather quality over quantity.

I do that as a must do on every trip, I'll be there in December and have my ressie all set :thumbsup2
