For those of you that have used Priceline, how does it work?

We are hoping to stay in a nicer hotel...not too picky, but want it to be close to WDW, obviously. What do you typically bid to get a nicer hotel? We would also be fine staying at a Country Inn and Suites type place...we just don't want to stay somewhere yucky. I guess I don't want to bid too low and get something bad, but I want to bid as low as I can! Oh yeah...we're going at the beginning of November...we just decided! :cool1:

Thanks in advance,
Courtney

before this website came out with All Star Sports for $36 2 1/2 stars - I bid at least $50 3 stars

A friend of mine just bid for the first time and got the 3* Best Western Lake Buena Vista for $45. With taxes and fees it came out to just over $53. I think this is an excellent price for a DTD hotel. They are on Hotel Blvd and have their own scheduled bus transportation to the parks, although you do walk a bit further than Disney buses.

For Disney area I like the 3 *. At MCO I bid 2 1/2, hoping for one of the AmeriSuites.

Learn about free rebidding on www.biddingfortravel.com and best of luck.

I usually start around $50 also and have gotten some very nice hotels. Like the others said, though, go to the Bidding for Travel web site and you'll get some good information.

Dopey and Grumpy-it sounds like you're going the same day we are! Thanks for everyone's help...I am looking forward to trying Priceline...never done it before!

One thought. My DH uses it all the time for hotels for business but we don't as a family. They will not guarantee a bed setup. All they have to give you is a king. So for our family that would not work. We do however use them for all our rental cars and always saved over 50% off the best deal we could get otherwise. Last time we got an SUV for $30 a night. Best we could find otherwise was $90. (NYC area)

This past month I got the Hilton at Downtown Disney off Priceline for a $62 bid for a four-star. Others have gotten it for $60.
