I am planning a trip for the 4th of july...for us to be able to actually go, I need to cut down expenses A LOT!!
I have priced mears shuttle which is like 18 a person one way...we have 5 of us, too expensive. I have also priced a towncar service...which is 110.00 rt. I went to mears website and the taxi estimator said one way about 33.00. How acurate is that price? I do not need a grocery stop, so its just there and back. I need the cheapest way possible. I dont care about comfort, lol, just a cheap way to get to Royal Pacific and back to the airport.
thanks for any help

i just checked the shuttle for mears again.

$18 pp.

you are better off using a car service for your group of 5

if you use car service for the round trip, you have no other passengers in your vehicle.

your pick up times are of your chosing.

the mears shuttle stops at other hotels along the way.
and, it takes longer to get to mco or rph.

I’m still trying to decide the same thing. Murray Hill Transportation is only $95 rt for a town car. www.transportation2disney.com I haven’t use them before. I’m a little worried about using a taxi tho. Its $33 but **Fares will vary depending on route taken, time of day and traffic conditions.

i have used murray hill quite a few times.

they are the most honest people i have met.....

they have been in business for many years.

if you use them and have any issues, it will be corrected by the owner or his wife immediately.

using a taxi can have the hidden charges.
if you are sitting in traffic, the meter keeps running.

take your time and check around for what you want out of the transportation.

i'm still trying to find the article that came out recently on a cheap transportation way from airport to uo hotels.

Thank you, that’s what I needed to hear! I think I will use Murray Hills. :goodvibes I have never used a car service so I'm a little nerves.

if you book with murray hill, they will give you the toll free number after you book.

marie (maria) is the wife who usually answers the phone.

it is a family run business.

if you use them, you need to request a grocery store/liquor store stop at that time. you will get a free 30 minute stop

there are a few others out there that have good reputations also.

yep the hidden charges are why im going back and forth with the taxi and towncar...I have used a car service which cant be named here and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Bob, but the price has gone up.
I am trying to cut any cost I can just to be able to go this year. Im glad you mentioned Murrey Hill...they are the least expensive I have found so far.
thanks

well im back to where I started...Murrey Hills prices are for 4 passengers, you need to add 10.00 for groups of 5 or more.
Ill keep looking...and Macraven...if you find that information about cheap transportation, please post it here. thanks

will do.
i'm still looking for it.

i used the same car service as you did last year. their service was excellent also.
i really like that company also and did see they raised their rates this year.

:scratchin How about renting a car from Hertz at MCO and dropping it off at the hotel? Has anyone done that or even thought about it. It shouldn't be that much with discount codes.

quite a few people have done that.

that is another option for limited transportation from mco to hotel.

if you check in and then go drop off the car, you won't have the parking fees on your hotel bill.

i believe there is a drop off for that company about 4 blocks away.

there is a hertz desk at each of the 3 hotels. I have called (RPR) to see if I rent a car where I live, could it be dropped off at the hotel. I was told yes. I checked, picking up at MCO and dropping off at RPR 72.00 and thats having the car for a total of 2 hours.
Im just going to go ahead and pay the car service we used last year, and use the grocery stop.
thanks yall for all the help

So, why not just use the Mears taxi? I'm pretty sure they'd have a taxi van and that sounds cheaper than any other options... :confused3 We're just a party of 2 and the taxi sounds like it will be only slightly higher for our transportation from RPR to MCO than the Mears group shuttle, so we plan on the taxi.
