We're going for a quick 4-day trip and will be arriving at OKW on a Thursday around 11:00 a.m. Just wondering what my odds might be of actually getting into our room then. OKW seems so big to me that it seems like they might have some open rooms. We're going the last week in October and only requested a non-smoking 1-br. Thanks!

We've never stayed at OKW (so I didn't "vote"), but my guess is that many people here have had multiple trips. Possibly getting into their rooms early on some trips, and not until 4:00 on others. How do you want them to respond?

Oops! I'm not sure how to add a third option, but until I figure that out, they could just vote based on the majority of their visits, yes, they usually get in or no, they don't.

Arrived at about 11:30 and our room was ready. We simply requested a 1BR non-smoking. I had prepared to wait until 4pm--the swim suits were packed in a separate bag for easy access. The first time I sayed at OKW the room was also ready, but it was much later--around 8pm so of course the room was ready!

We have always gotten in before 4:00 pm but not always upon arrival. We generally arrive before noon.

3 times in a row I had to wait until 4, but the other 13 times I did not.

We arrived on a Sunday at 12:30 pm. We had a selection of 4 rooms. The one we selected was ready. It was a non-smoking studio. We very much enjoyed the resort!

We've stayed at OKW about 5 times. Only once did we have to wait until 4 pm. Most other times we arrived before noon and it was always ready. The one time we had to wait was during Spring Break 2003.

Good luck,

Lissa

We have stayed at OKW 4 times in a 2br. We have always had to wait until after3 and the last time in January the room was not available until after 4pm (I was not too happy!).

Our trips seem to alternate between studios and 1 bedrooms, I'd guess that our room is ready about 75% of the time when we arrive (usually about 10am). However, there have certainly been times we've had to wait until 4:30 or so. Arriving on a Thursday, your odds are probably better than they would be on Friday, when a LOT of people checkout for the weekend.

My advice, always be prepared to wait, anything earlier than 4 is "Disney Magic" :)

The first time at OKW we arrived at noon and the room was not ready till almost 5. That was fine as we were in MGM by that time. I just called every 15 minutes from 4 PM on.

The second stay we arrived at 9 PM and the room was ready!

We stayed at OKW the end of March and our 2-bdrm was ready at 9:00 AM! This was a Sunday, and the place was packed.

We've also had a villa at OKW ready at 9 a.m. -- this was 2 years ago in October, on a Sunday morning. We were fresh from the Disney cruise and were thrilled to be able to spread out in a 1bdrm that early, LOL!! :teeth:

Got in ~ 3 PM 2 years ago, after checking in ~ noon.

Had to wait until 4 PM last fall, even though I checked in ~ 8 AM (the carpet was being shampooed and we were told it had to be given a chance to dry). Both of these trips were a 1 BR, and each time I was given rooms to choose from ---- guess I just didn't get lucky with my choices.

Got in at 7:30 AM in April and had a choice of at least 6 2 BRs that were ready at that time!

All 3 of these rooms were great locations and in great shape. Good luck!

We have stayed at OKW many times. The only time we had to wait until 4:00 was when we had a GV. Once the room was ready at 9:00 in the morning!

We've arrived early only once. At 1130 am and had a choice of four rooms. One of them met all our requests.

Arriving at 3 or 4 we've always gotten a room right away.

I think this is because OKW is not usually totally filled.

Had a 2 bedroom ressie in July 2002 at OKW and had to wait until 4 pm. We checked-in at 1 pm on a Thursday. In July 2003, we stayed at BWV and had to wait until 4 pm also (studio)---also checked-in on a Thurs. So far, all of my DVC I have not been able to get in early--- these were my two most recent experiences. My next stay will be a 2 bedroom at OKW is November. Maybe I'll have a better chance of getting in our villa early since it won't be the busy summer season ?

We have stayed at OKW numerous times since becoming members 11 years ago. Only twice did we not get a room when we first checked in:

* the week before Easter 1996 - we had two studios reserved & had to wait until mid afternoon; no big deal since we were meeting friends for lunch off property;

* May 2004, Member Homecoming - I make requests for non-smoking, first floor or elevator building for medical reasons & a room was set aside. The carpets were being cleaned, so the room was not ready. We could have been given another room, but I had a pretty good idea where our room would be & didn't want to change. Plus I figure a CM looked at my requests, set aside a room for me & I didn't want to change the work that went into it. It would have been nice to have a room ready when we arrived since we were going to EPCOT for a late night that evening, but I knew I was getting clean carpet! We had a late lunch at Olivia's & then got our room.

I don't mind two times out of numerous trips :)!
