i pretty much figured thats about what it feels like! lol

yeah i got that stuff packed.. i dont own a nightgown tho so i packed pj pants.. and the camera with extra batteries.. and the baby book.. my dr said if the nurse is cool enough while they are doing his hand/foot prints they might do it directly in the book too

That would be great if they did that for you Steph!!!
I think you should get a nightgown, much more convenient under the circumstances and the constant "changing" you will have to do. Don't forget a good supportive nursing bra!!!!

She never asks for much and rarely for personal stuff, always stuff for the house or family. The slippers are good though, nice and personal at least. Nice pink slippers I presume. Fluffy and warm. I sent her and her DH a gift so far, had it shipped directly to them and told her not to open the box, just wrap it so she can open when I get there. I have a few gifts here that I may have to ship, need to check into that as it's getting late for shipping. It may not be possible to take all the gifts in my luggage as I probably will need clothes while I am there, LOL.

There is not a whole lot that i ever really or can think of. Pink, red or purple and fluffly are my sliipers request

Oh man, ya want me to wrap huge box...thought i stick a bow on it and call it a day;)

That's great that you are going to get surprises this year, you usually know everything you are getting. I do too and I miss my surprises. At least you'll surprise me and so will Gary and Aunt Frannie.

Yeah, am excited about that

There ya go, you will still have few surprises left...all good:cutie:

You didn't tell me it snowed! Great idea to make Trent a snowball and freeze it for later. What did he think about it when he got up?Was there snow left outside or did he need his frozen snowball?

Snow was just about all gone and he was so bummed that i did not let him go out last night and play in it

But it was dark, and half raining..did not think a good combo

but he got over it

it is cold today and would not be surpised if we wake up to more snow tomorrow

Yes that would be nice if you had more snow tomorrow. Not much, just enough to play in. I hope you get a little snow when I am there, but not too much.

Yea I wanted you to wrap the huge box. Is it that big? Can you get one of hose huge gift bags at the dollar store, the ones that are like a big trash bag? Another alternative is to get Trent to color it so it looks like a package! How's that sound?

Yeah, I Just want enough to play around in, not enough to mess up the streets

Yeah, it is a monster

Don't think I could get Trent to color that. Coloring is not his thing

Big bag would be better:thumbsup2

Wow the box really that big huh?

The other box, the one with Trent's gifts in, that's not too big huh? Besides you can open that, take his gifts out and wrap them. Then I have a gift here for him that I am not sure if I'm bringing or shipping. I think I should ship as you never know with US Air and their baggage if it will get there or not.

I'm trying to read and catch up and not comment yet but I had to comment to this. I think maybe if your Mom prepares in advance for your baby #2 visit to help you she could possibly pull this off. As far as cleaning, well she can't clean in advance, well she can but if she's not there to keep it up, can he live with a little mess for an extra week? Most men can, especially since you said he spends his time downstairs anyway. Now for the cooking, perhaps your Mom could make up some meals ahead, cook meals and freeze them. She could make some casseroles and things that she can break up into individual size containers, freeze them and then your dad could just pop them in the oven or microwave and eat them each day. I think it is more important she be there to help you with your baby. This way they could stay 3 or 4 days together and then he could go home alone, do his thing with his basement work, pop those meals in the oven, eat and then it won't seem so long that your mom is away from him. I hope it works. I would want to be there at least a week if I could afford it. In my case I have to work so I can't afford to stay away long but if Sharky were pregnant again I'd save vacation time to go there and help and bond with the new baby.

Also I know you want your mom there more than anyone but is there an alternative like a sister or sister in law or aunt or close friend you would be comfortable having them come stay at your house and your mom could stay part of the time then someone else could come in and you'd have more help. :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice! I'm waiting for mom to get back to me but will definitely suggest the "frozen meals in advance".

You are not being a whiney baby. I totally understand as I commented earlier.

As far as the 1st baby jealous of the 2nd baby, when Kelly was born her DB helped me. I involved in and he felt like a big boy helping Mommy take care of the baby. He potty trained quickly and and he never backslided once she was here. In fact, he used to love to help me change her and he'd sit on the sofa and I'd put her in his lap and he'd feed her. He just loved having a baby to make him feel like a big boy!

So it sounds like 2nd baby can really help my 1st baby a BIG Girl! Today DD3 finally put her hand on my stomach to feel the baby kicking around and she liked it. Up until now she was scared to do it.

I'm not sure exactly what the problem is with th furniture thing but when I first got married the first time we bought our furniture at a store called Bambergers, it was a division of Macy. It turned out to be junk and I had put it on a credit card because I won't pay for any big purchases until I've seen it and used it and know it's good. I made a payment or two and then it started falling apart. I wanted my money back and for them to come get the furniture. They wouldn't do it. So I started with the phone calls and kept calling and calling until I worked my way up to the chairman of the board for Macy in NY. I told him my story and that I had not paid more than two payments for it and would not pay any more and if they did not come get it, I was putting it out on the curb as I went and bought good, well made furniture and it was being delivered that next week. I said I won't make another payment and I do not own it and I am not paying iinterest on it, nothing. The Chairman was very nice, he said he understood and they'd had troubles with the New Jersey Bamberger's store before so he would have someone come pick it up the next day if he had to come down to NJ and rent a pick up and do it himself. He said he'd credit my card for the entire amount of the furniture, which refunded the two payments I'd made. It was a nightmare until I reached the Chairman of the Board.

Good for you!

RE: the big box

Take the Sunday Funnies and use that as wrapping paper. It's colorful but easy to wrap.

Steph -- most hospitals also sell nursing bras so if you don't have one before, you can always buy there. Some people suggest waiting until the colostrum or even the milk comes in to get your nursing bra, that way you'll know what size is appropriate b/c you will get bigger/fuller!

Lanolin Lotion is good to have in case your ^^^^ get sore and chapped.

Other things to bring:

- a large plastic bag or envelope to put all kinds of "remembrances" in it.

- pen and paper (or just use baby book) to write some of your thoughts and to have your guests sign and write a note

- chapstick

Hello everyone! How's everyone doing? We went out and got a Christmas tree today! (For those of you who don't know me, I'm kaoden39's eldest daughter)

Here is my son with his girlfriend and her plastic baby !!!! When we went out to eat this weekend my son would say out loud "lookout please, plastic baby coming through"!!! At the rest. our waitress kept looking at the baby, finally we told her it was a fake baby....She went and told all the other waitresses, they all came by to check it out...One told us she had to do the same thing in school. She also told us she didnt learn from it cuz she had a baby about a year after high school.....:sad2: She said it has been very difficult !!

Hi UJ!!

That's a cute pic of your son and his girlfriend and plastic baby, lol.

I loved the deer pictures and the snow. I miss that so much. We lived in the Pocono Mountains in northeast PA for 5 years and we had deer and wild turkeys and even bears in our yard and I loved it. I miss that so much and I miss the seasons living in the south!

Hey UJ, go over to Kelly's and my thread as I posted pictures of my weekend at Disney!

DD3 touching your belly is a big step. She's no longer afraid, so as you start talking more and more about what a big girl she is and how proud you are andwhat a big help she is going to be to you and how lucky her little sister is to have a big sister to teach her things, etc. That will help as the time to deliver the baby gets closer.

That's a great idea Marshay, we used to do that years ago but I forgot all about it. Thanks!

Its the Mega Block Brand Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Garage, decent sized box, it may fit in carry on, have to see. I have Aunt Frannie and Uncle Ed's gifts and Gary's so may just have to put all in one box and ship to you. I'm just disappointed as I thought we were driving up so I thought this wasn't going to be an issue this year with me being out of work, shipping is expensive but better than having the gifts lost by the airlines. :sad2:
