We must be thinking alike because I did the world's longest survey this morning. Only I cashed in my Disney dollars before I left on my trip, so I only have like $13 in my account.

Yeah, they're out of business here too. They went bankrupt. It never was one of my favorite stores, so it didn't bother me. I just don't like the unorganized way that store is set up. I hate having to search to find stuff I like.

ACK! I would kill! Then again, if I got pregnant, I'd be suing somebody. My tubes are tied, I'm on BC, and I never...well ya know. Who would I sue first?

My survey was on the same movie that I have done one on like 3 times now, from when I stopped, Bedtime Stories. However, it has about 10 extra questions tacked on to at the end now about economy

Less than 3 weeks now

Just pack hairbrush, hair ties, deodrant, toothpaste and toothbrush, a few pairs of underwear, change of clothes and nice night gown. Oh, not sure what you normally use for that time of month, but in this instance, pack a bag of PADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You going to need it

yeah i got that stuff packed.. i dont own a nightgown tho so i packed pj pants.. and the camera with extra batteries.. and the baby book.. my dr said if the nurse is cool enough while they are doing his hand/foot prints they might do it directly in the book too

So over Thanksgiving, I'm sitting down with my mom and she asks, "Do you want me to come down for a few days when Baby #2 is born?"

Now when DD was born, my mom stayed at least a week but I think it was more like 2 weeks....I honestly can't remember ...those days were just a blur.

So I said, "well, I actually was hoping that you'd stay for at least a week if not more. I'll need more help with DD3 and baby #2 this time than I needed with just one baby before."

And she said that my dad doesn't want her gone that long and he doesn't want to stay that long at our house either.

Now you have to remember that my dad is healthy, self-sufficient and works part-time as a substitute teacher and then when he is home, he goes straight down to the basement and works there all night (he's trying to convert it from just cement to a finished basement). So my mom is basically left by herself all day.

They have a "traditional" home where mom does all the cooking, cleaning and taking care of dad while he does all the hard-labor work and controls the money.

Oh, and when DD was born, we gave my mom a generous gift of $$ which she used for Disney (she doesn't really have an income outside my dad and we wanted to let her know that we really appreciated her help).

So I'm feeling a little bit miffed at my dad now...the time I really could use some help -- not just a visit to see the baby -- and he doesn't want to have to cook/clean for himself. OH boo hoo!

We ended the conversation with me saying I'd really like her to stay more than 3 days since I'll need the help and she said, well your dad won't like that.

What to do ...

I'm trying to read and catch up and not comment yet but I had to comment to this. I think maybe if your Mom prepares in advance for your baby #2 visit to help you she could possibly pull this off. As far as cleaning, well she can't clean in advance, well she can but if she's not there to keep it up, can he live with a little mess for an extra week? Most men can, especially since you said he spends his time downstairs anyway. Now for the cooking, perhaps your Mom could make up some meals ahead, cook meals and freeze them. She could make some casseroles and things that she can break up into individual size containers, freeze them and then your dad could just pop them in the oven or microwave and eat them each day. I think it is more important she be there to help you with your baby. This way they could stay 3 or 4 days together and then he could go home alone, do his thing with his basement work, pop those meals in the oven, eat and then it won't seem so long that your mom is away from him. I hope it works. I would want to be there at least a week if I could afford it. In my case I have to work so I can't afford to stay away long but if Sharky were pregnant again I'd save vacation time to go there and help and bond with the new baby.

Also I know you want your mom there more than anyone but is there an alternative like a sister or sister in law or aunt or close friend you would be comfortable having them come stay at your house and your mom could stay part of the time then someone else could come in and you'd have more help.

DMM, I was about to tell you you suck....going to MK and all, and the warm temp. as I look out my window at SNOW !!! BUT then I realized that wouldnt be very nice......so.....I'm jealous......plain and simple......

Marshay, I know how you feel....We are having problems with our new house and the builder....I'm fed up.......too many things wrong....just noticed the counter top in the master bathroom is de-laminating...its coming a part.....just several days after we found the leak in the garden tub and it was raining in our garage.....through the dry wall.........UJ is not happy.....
LOWEs is coming out Monday to settle on the kitchen floor that was installed wrong.......and a repair man on the NEW microwave that sounds like a garbage disposal when you turn it on....nice huh??

Sad to say cuz I'm from Michigan and always try to buy "MADE IN USA", I always buy one of the big 3 car manuf......BUT.....I hope the Chinese, Koreans or Japanese start building houses.......I'LL BUY!!!!

My sons (15) girlfriend came over tonight with a baby....I said "What the heck is that?" She told me it was her baby.....I said "What thu?"
She has one of those mechanical babies she has to take care of for her health class in high school. She has it for the whole weekend.......
That thing is crying all the time.....it is hillarious......It keeps her and my son from making out !!!! She has to feed it until it says " COO COO", then she puts it down for a bit and it will cry within 15 minutes......It also goes on at night time, she wont get any sleep this weekend !!!!! I asked her if I could take it to disney !!!!!

Hi UJ! Yea I do suck, LMAO but I had an awesome time this weekend. i saw it all, it was just gorgeous, fun, and very moving. I'll write up a mini report complete with pics within the next day or two if you are all very good girls and boys.

Hey Nikki, so glad to see you!!! Yea I suck but I got to Disney over the holidays, Buahahahahha! I saw them from a distance, but I didn't stand there with the throngs of people trying desperately to get pictures. I saw them inside the doorway of a shop waiting to come out and people had the shop surrounded taking pictures.

It was gorgeous Friday and in fact, we were too hot but Saturday it got chilly, yea chilly, only about 69 or 70 but in the sun it was comfortable, and at night it was chilly, had to put my long sleeved shirt on. I'd wished I'd taken a light jacket instead of just a shirt, brrr, I was shivering by the end of the night, I think it went down into the 50's.

But it wasn't 5 freakin' degrees,

Was talking to a lady from Detroit area through work.....she wanted info on Disney.....I'm the state of Michigan employees expert......known throughout the state......I gave her a bunch of info......she wants to stay in a house close to Disney..... some people just dont get it!! I try to eplain it to her, it just aint clicking with her.....You can only do so much!!!

Sharky did as you requested, lol, she told me you said I suck through a text. I just laughed and laughed as I enjoyed myself hahaha!

If she really does not want to stay on property, tell her to come to a place like I'm at, the Tuscana Resort, only about 6 miles from Disney and you have a home like atmosphere where you can cook and all yet you still are on vacation.

I still think she's better staying on property because of all the specials trying to lure some tourists in.
