We're actually looking into the Cleveland Clinic (my sister and I), several neurosurgeons in the D.C. area, and even the Mayo Clinic. Somebody has to have a clue.

You can check into the University of Pennsylvania Hospital or Thomas Jefferson in Philadelphia, see what they have to offer as well. You definitely need someone better than your local yokel doctor there!

That sounds like the best idea to me. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this.

Thanks. I can guarantee you I am not going through another surgery until I see somebody different. I wish I never would have had those surgeries in the first place.

I think I just listened to him at first because he seemed to know what he was talking about. He speaks so matter-of-factly, ya know? Now it just seems like all he wants to do is surgery.

He would keep doing surgery forever as long as your insurance company is willing to give him big bucks, that's all he's in it for.

Well DH just took the camper to the shop to see what the heck is wrong with it. Hopefully it will be something simple.

I know. But since it is lingering I am thinking it wasn't just the heat.

Yopu worked too hard in that heat that is why you feel this way, you sweated out all your potassium and screwed up your electrolytes, makes sure you eat a banana or drink orange juice and maybe get some gatorade or something in you.

My glasses got so fogged up when I left work yesterday I couldn't see a thing.

I hope it's nothing big with the 5th wheel, but either way it should be warranty work. DH has to start traveling again, all summer so there goes all of our camping, it will sit outside and I can't go anywhere as i can't drive that thing or set it up.

Hey I need all ya'lls opinion. I started this job 3 weeks ago, I'm not so fond of it, the pay is very low and the mileage too and from is 32 each way so I'm using a lot of gas for a little money for a job I don't care for. I saw a job in the paper I'd like and I feel guilty for quiting if i get a new job which is closer and pays more. The people here are really nice and very good to me otherwise. However, I am still up ini the air what I am doing as if I a moving with Bryan to MS, if I am staying here and he's going to MS and I hate to start another new job and end up having to quit in August if I do go with him. You see the job I saw that I liked was at my old place and I loved it there. I became friends with the boss and a lot of the other workers so am not sure it would be fair to lie to them that oh yea I am staying here and then not. What do you think?

I say take the job you want. Just be happy, and screw the rest. If you do end up leaving, you tell them you didn't know.

I think I have a UTI...well, I'm almost 100% sure I do. (The bizarre thing is that the burning only happens in the evening, not during the day )
Well, as y'all know, I went to the Dr. last Tuesday with all the stomach stuff, as well as back pain (over where my kidneys are) -- it was not my regular Dr. because I couldn't get in to see him. Well they had done a urine test in their lab and it came back clear. So did the CBC So they did an ultrasound and I was still waiting on that.

Anyway it wasn't burning when I went to the bathroom at the time but over the past few days it has been (just in the evening, like I said before)
So I called that Dr's office this morning and left a message with the nurse, explaining that I thought I had a UTI and that I was there last week, etc.

So the stupid friggin nurse called me back. She goes “your ultrasound came back just fine. I have an order for you to do a urine sample at Quest diagnostics..” and I pretty much interrupted her and said “but Quest takes a couple of days to get results back” She said “on a urine sample I would think it’s pretty quick” I said “no, they send all their stuff off, they don’t even do it there” and she put me on hold. Then she’s like “okay, well I’m sorry I’m gonna have to get you to do it at Quest. I'll call them every day to see if the results are in. I’ll leave the orders in the front if you want”

Then I asked what time they[the dr. office] close…she said 4. I said well I can’t pick it up today, can you fax it? She said no, I can mail it to your home if you want. (uh, no?? that would take a couple days) I basically just huffed and said, there’s NO way you can give me a script? I’ve had a ton of these and I know what it is. I told her I’ll even take one of those home tests. She said no, we can’t do that blah blah blah. I said fine, I guess I’ll have to pick up the order at lunch tomorrow and do it then. (then of course wait 2 or 3 days (which would mean probably not til MONDAY) for the results and then I’ll either be better by then or be in sheer agony…..%%^$$!#$@%%^ stupid!!!) I'm REALLY REALLY TICKED OFF AT THAT OFFICE!

That sounds promising. Have you considered looking into Duke Hospital? It's near me, in Durham, NC and is affiliated with Duke University. It's one of the best places in the country for neuro stuff. (It is where Ted Kennedy had his brain tumor removed.) Since they are a teaching hospital maybe they'd be interested in learning more about your rare condition. ???

At any rate, I hope you can finally get some answers and, more importantly, treatment that works!

Thankfully the fog is coming in so we are going to cool down tonight. I am so thrilled.

the storm actually cooled it down here, it went down into the 70's last night and was 74 this morning, of course it is back up there but not as humid as it was so it's almost bearable!

That's okay Sorry to hear you don't get Friday or Monday off. Do you at least get time and a half? I mean by law you are supposed to either get a paid day off in observance of the holiday or time and a half for when you work. This is a nationally required holiday. I hope your boss knows that.

Thanks Carla, Apparently they only give 5 holidays and supposedly before I started the other employees took a vote as to what holidays they wanted. I don't know what they are, but I would have thought New Year's, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are the basics and that's 6 so they must have voted out the 4th. I don't know how you can do that since it's a federal holiday, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are not, so maybe they thought instead of losing them, they'd opt to lose the 4th. I think it sucks personally.

I think you have UTI also. I get them all the time and I call the Dr. and she just calls in a script for antibiotics. I am feeling like you are now, not all the time and I think it's cause I didn't finish my last prescription so I just took the rest and feel a little better but we knwo our bodies so why don't they believe us? Well mine does.

Also my doctor will fax the script for a test right to the lab you are going to so they have it when you get there. What the heck is wrong with your doctor's nurse?

I hope they take care of you girlie, this is not a good feeling to have!

OH...MY...GOSH. You killed a mommy! I HATE those! They carry their newborns on their back. Only, unlike us, they have HUNDREDS at a time and they carry them ALL. I've had that happen to me, and so has Mike, in our HOUSE at that!

cranberry juice and lots of tylenol. And Azo actually makes a special pill for the urinary pain, so I might pick that up tonight. (I got a sample in the mail that I had been holding for just such an occasion but I hadn't tried it yet to see how it works....forgot about it til late last night after I had already taken tylenol)
