Don't you ever wonder what it's like to be so self-admiring. It seems as if every one that he compares himself with says no thank you to that sinking boat.

George W. Bush - a true legend - in his own mind!::yes::

Excellent link, by the way, well worth the 15 minutes. The anti-voting movement by the Republican Party is disgusting. How can they think taking away someone's right to vote is worth it, just to win? How do they sleep at night?

Trying to take the right to vote away from tens of thousands of elderly, disabled, and African American Democrats is indefensible.

Only the ones who are voting ILLEGALLY .

Being eldery, disabled,or a African American doesn't give one the right to vote illegally.
Good answer.

maybe this will help

It's a small world afterall... it's a small world afterall... it's a small world afterall

Actually, I don't think he thinks that highly of himself. I doubt he would fool around with an intern in the Wite House.

haha, I just saw this on the internets and it gave me a good chuckle:

Good morning my fellow Kerry supporters. It's sunny and bright here this morning. Lots of leaves to rake and a campaign rally to attend! Then its home to carve the jack o lantern. I love late October especially in a Presidential campaign year.

James Roosevelt, Jr has something to say about George Bush being compared to his grandfather, FDR.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6364551/site/newsweek/

Here's a bit of it:

A War President isn't self-proclaimed. A president becomes a true War President by leadership that inspires followers at home and abroad. And most importantly, a War President never loses sight of the goals of true peace with honor.

For Bush to grant himself this title is an insult to my grandfather and the inspired leaders who led this country in wars that were just. To put it simply, George W. Bush has not earned the right to be called a War President.

Good for James Roosevelt. The Republicans, who proclaim the greatness of past Democrat presidents, gave those same Democrat presidents nothing but headaches and roadblocks. Today's Republicans are still trying to roll back the New Deal.

Ever notice, these same Republicans never invoke the names of Richard Nixon or Herbert Hoover.

I have a problem with someone who has led our soldiers into a war (and 1,100 to their deaths) when he so blatantly avoided combat by joining the National Guard, refused to even finish that obligation, and now is sending current members of the reserves to Iraq and not letting them retire when their time is up. The basic sentiment by the Bush administration seems to be that the people who are giving their lives and limbs are indispensible.

Thanks MinnieM21! They make me laugh (and cringe) every stinking time I read/hear them!:p

Here's a bushisim from debate #3 (and I've not heard anyone mention it yet). When responding to a question about gay marriage bush said "I proposed a constitutional amendment. The reason I did so was because I was worried that activist judges are actually defining the definition of marriage,..." Huh? defining the definition? I know this is a relatively minor isim but still it was during the debate when he was trying to impress someone...:teeth:

Did you have the same objections to Clinton, or is it party specific?

If Clinton had started a war with Iraq where 1,100 soldiers were killed in a year and a half, then I would definitely have had a problem with him. The scary thing is if Bush is elected again how many more of our soldiers are going to die in 4 more years??

Good Morning everyone! Ten pages later and I'm all caught up! Thanks to everyone for the great information and links. I just listening to the NPR report about the Ohio court case. I'm so glad this came out before the election, but I really feel for Ohio voters...I know emotions are running high there right now and it must truly feel like a "battleground."

I'm off to the TX Book Festival this afternoon to hear a panel on the state of the arts (one of the speakers is documentarian Ken Burns). I'll be wearing my Kerry pin and I bet I'll see others too. Since the beginning of the culture wars here in the 80's, the arts in America have been fighting like hell to say alive financially. Interestingly, first lady Laura Bush is an honorary chairperson of the festival...I wonder what she would have to say about the arts if she were released from the restrictive frame engineered by Rove? It is interesting to me that her work with books is always positioned as "education" and not the "arts"- who do they think writes books? (answer- the educated "elite" that they are striving to turn the country against). Just more hypocrisy to add to the mix...

Anyway, keep the faith, keep up all the great posts, and welcome to the new people I've seen posting!

Always interesting to see how a republican's mind works isn't it?

I just find it interesting that of all the things one might think of when viewing that poll, " can I cheat? " was the focus.

Yeah, my comment was sarcasm, grumpy. Republicans are actually concerned that voting results are acurate, not fraudulent.

The results from that site aren't worth the bandwidth they take up in cyberspace. But if the "results" make some internationalists feel all warm and fuzzy inside, then I guess it's a great site.

As any thinking person should, I always look at what I'm reading (especially on the internet) with a critical eye, even when it reinforces my own particular world view.

The first thing I did, before I actually voted, was go to the Q & A page, and saw that the site is absolutely meaningless. Then I voted a few times, just for the heck of it.

grumpy55, as this is a Kerry supporters thread I suggest you ignore the post and the poster.
