For Kerry Supporters Only

LisaZoe, I just reported the post to the moderators. I'm hoping it will be dealt with immediately. This is the second time I've seen a racially coded remark from that poster, and I beat myself up the first time because I didn't say anything.

Vent away Lisa. I too had decided to stop posting to the those types of political threads, however, that one could not be ignored. I had just tried to post to that thread, but it's now locked. I certainly hope the moderators delete those posts. They ought to delete the entire thread.

I find it amazing that someone can post such a racist comment and the best his friends can come up with is that it "might be" considered offensive.

It was disgusting and uncalled for, but not surprising.

Maybe this is what happens when we ignore them.

I know exactly which one you mean and I reported too. I went to put my two cents in and the thread is closed. Yay for the mods! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

LisaZoe,
I just want to give you a hug right now.

Did Michael Moore really say something about bribing college students with pizza?

I haven't even seen Farenheit -11.

Whats that they say about great minds? ;) ;)

For the most part I ignore political posts here on the DIS. You can only read just so many quotes borrowed from Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity before your eyes begin to bleed. ;)

Thanks all. I know it is not at all even remotely representative of the posters on this board. I won't let it change my view of the great people here but it certainly does take just a bit of the "shine" off it.

I think he said this when he was addressing a group of college students. He (jokingly) offered to buy them clean underwear and/or pizza if they voted for Kerry. Members of that state's Republican party (can't remember which state, maybe Ohio) tried to get district attorneys to prosecute Moore but none would - guess they know a joke when they hear one. :)

I can't remember the pizza party bit. But the underwear part comes from where he did give college students underwear or Ramen Noodles if they registered to vote.

It was in Michigan where they pressed charges against him.

Oh no, the "cone of silence" isn't working...

Oh, but it does...

Go to user cp at the top of the page, then click on "edit ignore list"....

It's a wonderful thing.....:rotfl:

I belong to several different message boards besides this. I rarely post on this board though, especially if a certain group of posters, (lets just say they are on the other side) are posting on that thread. I do not mind having discussions, but I do not want to be beaten down in the way I see too often.

To LisaZoe...just go take a look at your beautiful daughter, that will put a smile back in your heart - lickety-split!

Oh come one now PG, I would be heartbroken if I caused you enough angst for you to put me on your ignore list.

Hello?

Hello?

Can you hear me?

Yes, she definitely puts things in perspective.

peachgirl - I'm not sure I've reached that point yet... and certainly not with anyone on this thread, EB. :)

I'll just pay an undecided to vote in my place.

I know a few dozen people with stolen identities, if you want I can ask them to vote in your place. ;)

Disclaimer: this post is intended for laughing purposes only.

LisaZoe, I have a few people on ignore like the poster in question; it really just keeps the annoying ones away. There's no need to listen to some people, especially when they say the same things over and over and over....

Hi all!:wave2: I'm one of those voters who was formerly undecided. Guess what pushed me over the edge into Kerry's camp? Well, it just happens to be the "For Bush Supporters Only" thread! Wow. Talk about a lack of sense of humor. Most of that thread is focused on your thread. Right now, a few of them are arguing with Canadians.:rotfl: Go Kerry!:thewave:

That is just outstanding!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! That makes my entire week!

One vote at a time, Right?

Thanks!

BTW, I probably shouldn't mention that I missed the registration deadline and won't be able to vote. Bummer!

That is a bummer :(. The registration rules here in Wisconsin are very ... well ... libereral. To vote in Wisconsin you need to be a resident for 10 days and you can register right at the polls. It seems to me that many other states have rules in place that actually discourage voting.

I saw Moore speak on Saturday night. We were able to hear most of what he said even though there was a small, vocal minority of Bush supporters chanting loudly in an attempt to drown him out. Moore threw ramen noodles into the crowd. I don't think any of the republicans got any, though. They left before the ramen give-away.
