For Kerry Supporters Only

We have Kerry-supporting friends and family from coast to coast, and I am sure that our phone will be ringing off the hook and our emailboxes will be full. I will consider it a day of thanksgiving.

Don't forget, ladies, when we are running around nekkid with our bottles of champagne, we should toast the fact that we now have a president who supports our right to make our own decisions regarding our bodies. :)

Amen.

We also missed the " illegal votes" memo oh well we will just have to wing it and pay indigents in our area to vote. We were in Florida for the 2000 election/appointment and its was nerve racking to watch as Florida and Oregon were both in the unknown side. We hope the supreme court has made there decision by the time we go again in Dec. 2005.

Hopefully your's

Did you get your ballot yet? I guess I missed some news recently because I was surprised to see that Nader wasn't on it. I have a feeling that Oregon won't be quite so close this time. In fact, I'm hoping it's a decisive difference so it is obvious early that Kerry got our votes.

Oh yeah, for those who missed the "illegal vote" memo an update. Now it seems we are all to sponsor pizza parties for young voters who agree to vote for Kerry... or so a poster of the "other side" has written. Gee, I knew Michael Moore had made that offer (in jest, of course) but didn't realize we're all expected to do it. There goes my budget cause I live in a college town. :)

This is funny...off topic, but I just found this website:

LOL!
I remember that site from a few years back. Fun Stuff.

I will be at the Democat Victory Party in Madison. I know a couple of serious politicos and I always get an invitation :teeth:. We usually do "The Circuit" ... the local races first and the finishing at the big party. I'll also be doing the Happy Dance :cool1: for my Senator Russ Feingold who is the only Senator to vote against the Patriot Act and my Representative Tammy Baldwin :cool1: who is the only openly lesbian lawmaker on Capital Hill.

Gee, I wonder if this is how Cheney feels....

I need a clarification please.

Is it only battleground state Democrats that are required to vote illegally?
I need to know if I need to get the word out to RI and MA dems if that's not the case.

DH and I will be celebrating our 8th anniversary on the 2nd, and Bush being ousted will be better than any other gift I could imagine.:)

We got our ballots yeswterday. So they are send through the "M's". Glad to know about the Pizza parties I dont have to go hunting under bridges for voters now.

Maddy

We will be celebrating with our family and friends! I already have the champagne on hand.

I will head out to the neighborhood bar, where the majority of my friends... but none of the security staff/bouncers... are Kerry folks. So it will be time well spent rubbing it in the face of a 6-foot-tall 340-pound bald man who, thankfully, likes me and won't kill me.

On the topic of the polls, please remember that in '00, Bush was ahead nationally in the popular vote by about 8-10 points depending on who you asked, and by about 60 EC votes. We all know how that worked out. These days, the EC numbers are much closer (according to the latest numbers, Kerry is ahead 253-247 with Florida, Iowa, and New Hampshire in deadlocks)... and the best thing about these polls? They're still of Likely Voters.

LV polls are normally very reliable, but this cycle there are, nationwide, 16million-plus new registered voters. The vast majority of them are under 30. The vast majority of under-30 voters, in any cycle, vote Democrat. So LV polls, which focus on those who voted in the last election cycle, should be further to the right than reality this cycle... and Kerry's still ahead.

Still stuck on the notion that Bush was appointed? Even though the SCOTUS said differently as did several independent investigations. Some of them that clearly tilt left.

Hi all!:wave2: I'm one of those voters who was formerly undecided. Guess what pushed me over the edge into Kerry's camp? Well, it just happens to be the "For Bush Supporters Only" thread! Wow. Talk about a lack of sense of humor. Most of that thread is focused on your thread. Right now, a few of them are arguing with Canadians.:rotfl: Go Kerry!:thewave:

I posted this on another thread but since Elwood wants to come to the Kerry thread, I think it should be repeated.

"They continue to promote the fiction that, if each and every vote had been counted four years ago, George W. Bush would not be sitting in the Oval Office."

It is not fiction. Who knows what the outcome would have been if each and every vote had been counted in the last election - instead Bush vs. Gore had the Supreme Court step in and stop the vote counting. It is not fiction that Florida wrongly removed eligible voters from the rolls to stop eligible votes from being cast. Fiction is believing that George W. Bush was elected in 2000 in a fair election where all eligible votes were counted.

Yes - the supreme court did appoint George W. Bush as they refused to allow the recount to continue in Florida because Florida didn't (and still doesn't!) have a uniformed way of voting.

Welcome, Flounder's Friend. :wave2:

It's always nice to have more people share the burden of all the illegal voting, pizza "bribes", etc. Plus, we're just a really fun bunch to be around. ;)

I should warn you, though, that many of us have been accused by posters with the "other side" of not having a sense of humor. :)
