yes the wait is terrible....your comment about being already packed makes me laugh:lmao:....I am still making list of what to pack:confused3. I know according to you I'm behind:laughing:. Kinda worried about the floods with us coming from texas hoping we dont run into any issues. You have any thoughts?

i would check with aaa to see if any interstates are closed on your rte. im hearing alot about the miss. river in ten.but also alabama has alot of flooding.

we drove yesterday from ne wisconsin and made it to chattanooga, tn. we'll be leaving here shortly to get to wdw for our first time ever. the drive has been very smooth. very little construction & not too much traffic. i think the worst city we went through was louisville. the weather has been beautiful as well. :goodvibes

ive just seen on the news that they are going to open flood gates in la. that many homes may be under 25 feet of water along the miss. river. if your coming from the mid west, in the next week or so, i would check it out before you leave that your rte is open.

Hmmm, I think I have 48 weeks from tomorrow before we hit the road. Should I start packing? :goodvibes

I know it makes me so nervous. The wait and watching and waiting is too much. Hope all goes well and we r able to get there ok and not too much drama.

Chicagolandia.... IN the city it's hit 5

We are heading down 3 weeks from today and I just wish I knew what gas was going to do. I have our trip budgeted at $5 per gallon.........but now kind of stressing about if I have enough $$ set aside if it goes higher! UGH

It's three weeks for us too (do dah do dah) I have no worries of gas hitting $5... and if it does around here, the nano second we leave Blagoland gas goes down significantly :woohoo:

you will be ok at $5. gas has drop about about 40 cent on the market, if it holds, it will start coming down at the pump. your getting the surge that happen a few weeks ago.:thumbsup2

We are back and I have to say it wasn't a bad drive at all. Will post more as soon as I get the wash done and everything put away. It sure was hot down there and my DGD really enjoyed herself:love:

Welcome back! Glad u had a good time.

Now that I have some sense of everything being put away and wash done let me say a big thanks to everyone on this board for all the help. We started out around 5:30 am on a Tuesday morning and arrived in Disney around 2 pm the next day with a stop over in Santee SC. The drive down was a breeze DH could not believe there was no traffic anywhere, we encountered some traffic on the way back but it was a Friday/Saturday drive so that was to be expected. We did not hit any construction both ways. Thanks to the tip here about the speed trap in SC we well aware of watching out for it they were not set up on the way down but were in their RV on the way back..
I was not to sure how I was gonna like the drive cause I'm the lets there the fastest quickest when possible type of person and I must admit it was not bad at all. DGD was really good with the drive down and back although I think I know where every potty stop is from here to Fl and back:rotfl2:

We did use the car to go to the parks/other resorts except MK we took the bus and we really lucked out on them also as we never waited more than 2 minutes for one to show up.

Would I drive down again well lets say I would not be hesitated to drive again:thumbsup2

Pam

glad you had a good trip pam!!! i had to laugh at the potty break stops. when i was a kid i found the need to have to check them all out myself. for some reason i loved what they called "service plazas". :lmao: now they just call them rest stops.:lmao: the last few years, ive been taking disney transport. myself rather than my van. for some reason eveytime i would drive to a park, i would get a fresh new door ding in the side of my van.so, to keep it the happiest place in the world, we let them drive. looks like we have a new driver to the club!!!!:thumbsup2
