with the price of food saver bags, do you still find it worth it? they are not cheap. :scared:

I love my food saver... I buy the rolls and cut my own bags. Look at SAMs club, costco, kohls and target for discounts.

Yes, I do find them worth it!
A. I buy meat and poultry in bulk and then break the packages down into meal-size portions before freezing.
B. The bags are more effective at preventing icing and freezer burn than ordinary freezer bags or plastic wrap.
C. I'm less likely to order out or run to the store and pay non-sale prices for meat because I have a variety of meats at the ready in my freezer.
D. I vacuum-seal and freezer leftovers in individual portions. It prevents waste and helps me to avoid dining out on nights when I don't have time to cook.
I buy the Foodsaver rolls instead of bags so that I can customize the size of the bag. I order them directly from the Foodsaver website when they have a good coupon and I get enough rolls to last me until the next good coupon is issued. I haven't sat down to estimate the "cost per bag", but as I stated above, the cost-savings from no wasting food and taking advantage of sales more than negates the cost of the bags.

excellent points! thanks.

I use this
I usually get the 11" X 18' 3 roll value packs for $14.99 and buy enough to get the free shipping. They work great!

Thank you for the link. I love my Food Saver! Do you find the bags a better quality than the Food Saver bags or about the same?

Foodsaver also has a ziplock bag and a $20.00 hand vacuum pump. I can put about 8 to a bag. Take one out and reseal.

Also if you put them in a plastic sandwich bag (not the zip up ones) and then into the ziplock you can reuse them. The sandwich bag keeps the ziplock clean.

They are just as good, if not better than Foodsver bags. :thumbsup2

Are they constructed like the foodsaver bag?

Are both sides smooth or one side rough? The rough side are air channels so the air can be pumped out.

They have smooth side and rough side.
