It was cheap and cheerful..... It worked out around £10 per head with drinks, and there's desserts as well as mains. I don't know if I'd personally go back, but I'm not really a buffet person. The food was of good quality though- The grilled meats were fab, and the outlaws had off the cavery and the joints of meat there looked really good....

We went for lunch at Aroma in Barnsley:

Then last night we went out for a meal at Pinnochios in Barnsley:

We went to the Pagoda in Wakefield for Robert's birthday meal:

Combo Starter

Shredded Duck

Squid in Black Bean Sauce

Yeung Chow Fried Rice

Scallops with Ginger and Spring Onion

Beef with Ginger and Spring Onion

Sizzling Chicken Skewers with Satay sauce

Robert's steak and chicken skewers with garlic sauce

Then I took him for lunch at Pinnochios:

Here's the food piccies from our Edinburgh trip:

To start, Robert had Sliced breast and potted leg of borders Partridge with a beetroot salad and Cumberland sauce:

I had the Scallops with ginger and lemongrass, and they were spectacular. Huge, fresh, juicy scallops served in the shell. Absolutely divine.

For mains, Robert ordered a medium rare Aberdeen Angus Ribeye. He was slightly sceptical at first as ribeye is far from being his favourite cut of steak, but this was something special. There was very little fat on the steak, and the meat was of such good quality. I don’t eat red meat, but I tasted this and asked for more. It was stunning!

I ordered the Barbary Duck (which was a replacement for the Mallard on the menu) and it was the best duck dish I have ever eaten. The meat was slightly pink, so perfectly cooked. The truffle cream that came with dish was out of this world.

I also ordered a side of buttered sugar snaps and they were fantastic. Perfectly cooked and utterly scrummy! Puddings were next, and these were my highlights of the meal. Robert ordered the Chocolate Torte with Milk Chocolate Sorbet, which he really enjoyed.

I was seriously indulgent and ordered the Pudding Selection. This has got to be the most wonderful dessert I have ever eaten in my life.

On my plate, I had a small amount of every dessert, which was: Pannatone bread and butter pudding, Rhubarb Trifle, Pistachio Biscotti, Chocolate Torte, Milk Chocolate Sorbet, Iced Pistachio Parfait, and Vanilla Ice Cream in a Brandy Snap Basket.... Bizzarely, my favourites were the two I didn’t expect to enjoy- I don’t like trifle, but the Rhubarb trifle was delicious. And I’ve never eaten any form of bread and butter pudding before (My Mother has a thing against bread in desserts) but the Pannatone bread and butter pudding was to die for. Simply incredible. Overall, a wonderful experience that I shall remember forever.

Then we went for lunch in the Castle, which was amazing! We ate at the Queen Anne Cafe, and sat in a courtyard with a glass roof... It was a fantastic location for lunch....!

Robert had the Scotch Beef Burger with homemade tomato and onion relish:

I had the Seabass with Aryshire (Spelling?) smoked bacon potatoes in a chive cream sauce:

This was incredibly yummy!

Desserts were a Pistachio and Chocolate Brownie for Robert:

And Dark Chocolate Cake for me:

these food pics are making my tummy groan i see you like eating out in my neck of the woods so heres a place for you to try ... its called Eastern court at the rear ofthe escape near glass haughton nr castleford off the m62, its a chinese restaurant buffet style (with a counter service) he food is so delicious you have to try it i recommend the butterrflyed ? king prawn in garlic n ginger mmmmm also the veg green thai curry also the desserts are lush banana pieces in batter n caramel with poppy seeds
