Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Fun updates! Now when I read your DL updates I can feel a little nostalgia since I've finally been there! :goodvibes Your nighttime-arriving pictures make me remember how excited I was when we arrived there late at night and I glimpsed DCA from the road and our hotel balcony. I can't wait for more!

Great update and wonderful that you have made such good friends through the DIS

I love meeting people, especially people who have a love for Disney :goodvibes

Hopefully one day you can come back and visit and maybe i'll be able to meet up with you! :goodvibes

Also, did you just add that TR link in your signature?! Or has it been there forever and i'm just a fool?:upsidedow

I would LOVE that! But unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime in the near future. I'm always keeping an eye out for good deals on flights to LA to visit my friend, but since we just bought a house it's probably not going to be in the budget this year. As it is, Bobby probably would have voted to cancel our WDW trip to save the money but he knows I would murder him and it isn't an option! But if you're ever visiting NYC let me know! :goodvibes

And no, you're not a fool! I just started the TR a few days ago. There's not much going on over there yet besides me rambling and counting down to the trip! I'm so excited I don't even know what to do with myself. I should be unpacking but instead I'm on the DIS all day long :rotfl:

How did I miss you taking pictures at dinner? :confused3

The Red Lion looks nice and comfortable enough. It's nice that you got a few days away from DS to reconnect again, just the two of you.

That's awesome that you were able to help Alison out and jump her car for her! Her house sounds amazeballs and the plans for the Disney themed rooms are awesome!

I bet DH was happy to try out his present!

Awesome that you were in the area to help A & F :) and more awesome that you got to spend time with them afterwards. I love that history, such fun :)

Glad you had an enjoyable DIS-meet! And also handy that you were able to help out with their car.

Wow, that would be weird to go to bed without having to worry about a toddler and all of their things. I guess I've forgotten what that's like. :rotfl: I have yet to be away from Izzy for a night.

Looking forward to more!

The thing I love about the Dis is that it enables you to make connections that carry through into 3D life. That's a great history with Alison.
Awesome that you could help Alison out!
That's a great room.
And I've also taken the scenic route....once. :faint:

great update. Sorry about your friend's car - but great that you were able to help! You DM is making her presence felt even when she isn't there! :thumbsup2

As someone who has only been to WDW it still amazes me how close to non-Disney property/roads Disneyland is ... I mean, I know that is a key reason Walt wanted to buy so much land in Florida, to avoid that ... but still amazes me.

OK, chiming in with some pictures. Here's the car that we were driving when we needed to be rescued.

Here she is with her second place ribbon, and in this picture you can see the cause of the problem. We added an after market AC system and a "secret audio" system. Both of which put much too much demand on the generator (which was only built to handle 40 amps). Keeping cool and listening to FM radio and CDs made the car run at 50 amps, so after about 100 miles, we burned up the generator. We have since installed and Alternator which charges at 130 amps. Now we can listen to music and keep cool with no risk to our battery.

And one more (just to show how packed the car was). Thanks Leshaface and DH for helping me to unload all this stuff!

I'm back and caught up! So glad you had fun Alison and Fran. We also had a great time with Alison at DL on Monday!

Maybe one day (if Bobby allows more future trips after this one!), we'll run into each other at WDW! That would be lots of fun :cool1: And yes, i'll definitely let you know the next time we head up that way again. We really do need to pay a visit to my Grandmother in PA.

I was sneaky :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: I like that everyone's head is tilted, BTW. It was really nice! Even better that we were the first room right off the back entrance to the hotel so we were only feet away from our vehicle.

Her house is definitely amazing and I can't wait for her Haunted Mansion Theater to be completed one day!

I bet DH was happy to try out his present!

We had so much fun! I only wish that I would have known them when I was actually living 10 minutes away from them.

Glad you had an enjoyable DIS-meet! And also handy that you were able to help out with their car.

It sounds like you and Dug need one night away from Izzy. Have you guys wanted to and just haven't found the time, or are you uncomfortable with the idea?

Absolutely! The DIS is definitely the best find in all of the internet! We've taken that route very few times when we just want to make our way leisurely over there, but it was such a bad call when we just wanted to get to the hotel.

It really is a trip to see the layout difference between WDW and Disneyland. I know that Walt regretted not buying enough land for DLR so he could keep the hotel and restaurant signage far enough out, but they do a great job with the land they have, IMO.

Such a gorgeous car! When we first pulled up to walk over to Fran, I was holding my necklace and sunglasses back to make sure they wouldn't fall and scratch the car. I was so afraid! :scared:

I'm back and caught up! So glad you had fun Alison and Fran. We also had a great time with Alison at DL on Monday!

Hey Mark! Glad you made it back safe and cannot WAIT to hear about your trip.

popcorn:::thumbsup2 Enjoying your mini-TR!

Thanks Tania!

He's here! My little Nephew, Luke, arrived 6 days early around 6:30 am on Tuesday, August 5!:cool1: Both Mom and Baby are doing well and will be coming home on Thursday.

She actually started going into labor in the afternoon on the 4th (my mom's birthday!) and instead he came on my Grandmothers birthday (my dad's mom!) It was kind of fun to see when he would show up, because my Dad's birthday was August 9th, so that would have been kind of fun too.

.......now DH has baby fever. He was looking forward to getting off work all day yesterday to go to the hospital and hold him...we're in trouble folks.

Congratulations on the arrival of Luke, He is adorable!

Uh oh, it sounds like Calvin might be having a new brother or sister sometime soon ;)

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a beautiful baby boy! :goodvibes What an exciting time for your family. Enjoy every second.

Maybe one day (if Bobby allows more future trips after this one!), we'll run into each other at WDW! That would be lots of fun :cool1: And yes, i'll definitely let you know the next time we head up that way again. We really do need to pay a visit to my Grandmother in PA.

:rotfl2: at the bolded. I'm expecting that he'll be desperate to buy into DVC by the end of this trip :thumbsup2 But really, I crack myself up :rotfl:

A meet would be awesome. I'm gonna guess that my next trip is going to be another 3 years away. Sigh. Hopefully expanding our family will make it go fast :p
