So when she asked if I would want to meet up, I was totally for it. We set up a time and place and had some margaritias at one of the local Mexican restaurants.

Seems like the perfect way to meet.

No DIS meet pic! So sad that no one got a full group shot!

And I still don't understand how that can happen.

After our terrific meal, it was time to head out. Poor Fran and Alison had such a looong day and I was just so happy to hang out with the both of them for a long time.

I'm glad you were able to help them out, see their house and spend some time with them.

Perfect way to end such a great day.

They are so so soooo thrilled and happy! I don't think i've ever seen a prouder set of parents.

I see the tiredness in my SIL and see the pain from giving birth and all the memories just came flooding back. I think i'll be ready in a year or two.

***If anyone can remember from my last update years ago , we had just spent a marvelous day at Long Beach watching the World Cup with a friend and spending the rest of the day/evening with franandaj***

Today was our meet up with Alison over at Disneyland! My alarm was set to go off at 6:15am but I woke up at 5:30 and couldn’t fall back asleep. Yes. Too excited to sleep! So I got ready and made a little extra noise around 6:45 to start waking DH…by jumping on the bed! He was a little peeved but gave in eventually and we were out the door by 7:25am. It was a short 3 minute drive from our hotel to the Grand Californian



We drove up and left our car to check in. There was a bit of a wait, so while I waited to get checked in, DH went to get our luggage from the car. About 10 minutes go by and I get called to check in and DH comes back with the luggage and leaves it with me and left, to take the car to the self-parking, I assume.

The room wasn’t ready and I didn’t expect it to be so I left the luggage with Bell Services right as DH walks in. Let’s go to Disneyland!

But first, some real coffee, because hotel coffee just doesn’t do it.

I knew the new Starbucks in Downtown Disney was open so figured we stopped there and get some stars on my app





The store really is cool! I worked for Starbucks for 7 years and it was tons of fun getting to meet some really awesome (and really strange!) people. It’s always neat to see other stores and this store was very impressive.





Lots of workers, but not much working. I guess a lot of them were training?

We were finally on our way into Disneyland at 8:30am



Doesn’t the castle look so small compared to Cinderella’s Castle? Still pretty though.

We wanted to go see what the line situation was for Peter Pan. Yeah no. The line was already 30 mintues. This ride is super popular and needs to have a FP someday. So the next best thing is to try and pull a sword out of the stone. You can see the PP line behind me.



I’m clearly really trying here as my Julia Roberts vein decided to make an apperance



Okay before I post this next picture, I just need to say how proud I am of DH. We all know he only owns one Disney shirt and that is his Orange Churro shirt and he wears it on every Disney trip, which is totally fine. But I think he needs another shirt to add to his wardrobe. Well I came across this really cool Star Wars shirt at Target a few days before my trip and sent him a picture of it asking if he would wear it, thinking I would get a major no, but instead he wrote back, “I guess”. Means yes in my book!



Turns out he really did like the shirt once he tried it on, so we’re both happy. Now he'll have this shirt, his orange churro shirt AND a Mickey holding a churro shirt, compliments of Philgoodvibes) for our January trip.

After our failed attempt at removing the sword, we pressed onward to Toontown. But the gates didn’t open till 9am so we had some time to spare. DH suggested…IASW. Whoa. He hates that ride. But it was right around the corner from the Toontown gate and the wait was less than 5 minutes so it seemed like the right thing to do.





We snagged a boat with one other couple in the row in front of us and they were trying to take a picture together with some trouble and DH offered up his services, which they returned the favor.







While in the first ‘scene’ of IASW, I just randomly started thinking and had a strong urge to ask DH about the car. He turned to me, his face completely white and said, “I forgot to park the car!” At first I thought he was joking, but could tell seconds later he was totally serious. Apparantely, I had thought he went to move the car when he left the luggage with me, but he ended up using the restroom. Probably shouldn’t have assumed he went to move the car. Dumb move on my part. Remember, this ride is like 10 minutes long and we were stuck. And our vehicle was just sitting there, right in front of the lobby doors. I looked up the GCH number on my phone and gave it to DH to explain the dilemma. Even though the situation was slightly stressful, I had to do it. Pictures were an absolute necessity at this point.

He was on the phone for the majority of the ride, which I guess I’d rather hear him talking over the nonstop chanting of, “It’ a small world after all..”

I obviously couldn’t hear the other side of the conversation, but DH kept repeating,”I’m so sorry, I feel so stupid, I’m so sorry!” In the end, the keys were still in the ignition (just like they asked him to leave when we were leaving the car to check-in. Wonder if we weren’t the first ones to do this?) so they just moved it into valet for us with no problem whatsoever. Phew! Crisis averted. Could you imagine if this happened anywhere but Disney?! Our car would have been stolen for sure. Even though we laugh about it now, it was a crazy way to start the morning!

That is a really nice looking Starbucks.

There was one year where I spent a week in WDW with my brothers and then flew out to California and spent a week in Disneyland with my parents. Nothing emphasizes the size difference between the two more than seeing them literally a day apart!

Oh my gosh! The car!!! That moment when you realize the car is still parked in front of the hotel. You're right, anywhere but Disney it wouldn't last that long. It could have been worse, he could have had his keys in his pocket.

Good job getting there so early! That Starbucks looks really nice. Do they have a clover machine there? I love those - granted the coffee from them is like $12 bucks but soooo good.

You are right with how small Sleeping Beauty Castle looks down Main St when you are used to Cinderella's Castle - but looks lovely when you are closer.
