Hi nerds

Never been to the Disneyland Food and Wine festival but will be in the area this week and considering going. Is it similar to the Epcot festival (done that bunch)? Is it just in Cali adventure? General thoughts ? Thanks!

Food and Wine is just in DCA.

I've never been to WDW's festival, but my understanding is that our Food & Wine is significantly smaller.

ETA: DCA's Food & Wine is in the spring. When you say you will be in the area "this week" do you mean October 2024 or in March/April 2025?

Planning to be there April / May 2025 and also hoping to try the Food & Wine festival too. It has always looked exciting but my wife and I have never been out at the right time of year before - so we're looking forward to it !

Oh thanks King I thought it was in the fall. You’re making my decision easy. 😀

I've never been to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival but I have been to the DCA California Food and Wine Festival. They had a watermelon drink that was amazing. It was like drinking a real watermelon. Some of the other food and drinks was hit or miss. There were things I liked, and things I didn't like. When I went it was a bunch of kiosks selling different types of food.

In case anyone is curious about this, I have been to both.

It's like the EPCOT one, but smaller as in less booths, less wine, less live shows...

But...I've personally found the quality of our food to be better on average and we have more beer and cocktail offerings.

We also have enough sitting and standing tables that eating on top of a garbage can isn't a requirement. Also no fighting off ibises after your food, just your standard smaller house sparrows.

When you are referring to "our" or "we" are you talking about CA having better food and enough tables or WDW having better food and enough tables?

My wife has said they should rename it booze and cheese festival…. since most of the drinks seem to be cocktails and “all of the food” is covered in cheese. (She does not like cheese)

They made a joke of this at D23 and I didn't get it. I don't see people eating on top of trash cans at DLR. That's why I was wondering which park you were referring to. I thought maybe I was just oblivious.

While DLR’s Food & Wine is in the spring, we do have food/beverage booths during DCA’s Festival of Holidays. I usually prefer the food options from the holiday booths! Unfortunately you’ll still miss it though as the start date is November 15 (with a soft opening usually available the day before).

Try the “Swine Brine”. It’s topped with a pork rib, no cheese. Hands down the best thing I have ever eaten and drank at Disney

I believe you are referring to WDW's event. This is the Disneyland forum.

I agree with the lack of wine comments. I don't drink hard alcohol or beer, nothing against it I just don't love the taste, and if I recall when I went last March only one or two booths had wine. I've been multiple years and it seems like there is less and less wine each year.
