Food Allergies at DLRP

Hi Everyone

Not sure if anyone can help me but any advice would be much appriciated.

I am going to DLRP in September and am a little apprehensive about hte food.

I suffer with a bad NUT allergy and was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has either the same problem or a similar problem regarding allergies and eating at disney.

When I go to WDW they are fabulous about my food allergies and always manage to find me something to eat. However, I was just wondering whether this would still be the case for DLRP? Also this may sound a strange question but did anyone notice if much of the breakfast food had many nut items in them or even at other mealtimes?

At DLRP there is a special department who takes care of guests with special allergies!

Just contact Disney and they will help you!

You have to contact them before you arrive and then you have to make your reservations and this special department will take care that you get a special meal at the restaurants that you have choosen!

i have a nut allergy too.. but just curious... is there a certain reason why you're more worried about the items with nuts at DLRP than anywhere else?

i don't usually worry as long as i pay attention to menu items.. some items are obvious with or without nuts...

do food items in paris usually have more nuts in it or something?

I think that people have different comfort levels. As witnessed on the recent veggie thread, some people want to know every ingredient beforehand; others may not be comfortable asking in another language; and others are willing to go with the flow (although in the case of allergies that may be a little dangerous)

I am veggie as many animal products make me quite ill, and as I travel so much it's pointless to even try to eat meat, etc. But I don't insist on knowing every ingredient beforehand - I usually just ask when ordering.

But for a life threatening allergy, some people understandbly would like to be more prepared.

As I have a life threatening nut allergy, it is just nice to know sometimes before you if it is going to be easy for me to eat much food over there.

I am the kind of person who would ask the waiter/waitress whether they could just mention to the chef that I have a nut allergy, just to cover both my back and theirs. Well that is what I have done in WDW and they were great about it!

As for checking ingredients on packets then yes I probably would in france because I would be in a different country to my own and eating different foods.

I guess it is all about comfort levels as well as safety

And no I am not saying france has more nuts than other places

i mean im worried about nuts as well because it is life or death with me... but i dont usually ask unless i notice other stuff on the menu contains nuts...

i mostly have problems at vietnamese restaurants.. haha okay thanks!

I used to be the same as you, and not ask unless i saw it on menu, partly cos I didn't like makin a fuss. I am syill a bit like that now but depending on how comfortable I feel then I may or may not mmention it in restaurants
