Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

There is nothing better than coming home after a day's work and find two of your updates, Ellen!

We have never been to Prime Time, looks fun, but teaching manners I am not sure I would like the antiques! :rotfl2:

Your food looks very yummy though. I LOVE the photo of Timmy biting into his Smores, so fun.
And you are perfectly right about the look of terror on Sean's face, seeing his brother being fed. :lmao:

I need to finish up my trip report of our February cruise before you sail - I am doing my best, but we are leaving for DLRP on Saturday morning. ;)

Tyler also needed help finishing veggies- notice the look of terror on Sean's face- I think he was thinkin, "Oh NO! She'd better not be coming for me next!" :rotfl:

IMG_3458.jpg

Hehe!!! Sean really does have an "OMG!" look on his face. Same look my daughter gives when anything green comes anywhere near her. :)

Confession: 15 plus trips to WDW and we have never been to the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Does that mean they take away my Mickey ears or something?

Great update!

I am like your son, I like a lot of veggies but I really don't like greens, I would definitely have to substitute those greens with something else or they would have to feed them to me, too! LOL

Great meal at 50's PT, that is one I ave wanted to try, I really thought it would have been a great one for our trip in May but everyone else picked other places... Well, maybe next trip, I already decided that next trip we will be trying ALL new places.

holy moly...i must have done something because I missed a ton of updates

1) hope the meds are better now. Nothing like not having the right meds. I gave Beth allergy meds one day instead of the ritalin...ummm bad mom. Not a good day.

2) That is terrifying that kids are old enough to go on transportation by themselves. I'm still getting over mine riding down the block to her friends house.

3) Ahhhh taking part in everything at the resort...smart boy

4) I would have lost it if someone had fed me beans...

5) what a special night at MK with Timmy. Very cool

6) Pods is awesome! Just awesome like I said before you two seem to be a great team making it work when it just seems like it is all falling apart. Glad you got away to Mexico!

7) Happy that I am not missing the PTR for the cruise...missing the cruise is hard enough. less than 2 weeks! Can't wait to hear those stories....how many depends and poise is Joan bringing?

Love the picture of Sean with his Blue Dog.:goodvibes

The fried chicken does look tasty. When we went I had a bowl of soup, it was tasty.

The funny thing is the table tops are just like the ones in our first house! Except ours had a white ground with the pink & grey amoebas!:lmao: I had to laugh at them when we were there!

I didn't realize you had posted this morning when I wrote a reply. So more comments - Theresa looks like too much fun! I haven't been there since my boys were a bit younger and I still laugh because our server keep calling Brian sparkie because of his braces.

9 nights in November! That is awesome! :cool1: We have 9 nights in June (5 with my brothers family and 4 by ourselves, but our Daytona Beach Friends want us to come stay with them for a couple nights). So torn since I really don't want to give up any Disney time!

Love 50's! Glad you got the great server. Is the sampling a new thing? I don't remember that on the menu when I was there last (2010). Then again I'm almost always only looking for the pot roast anyway.

You must be so excited about your upcoming trips! Can't wait to hear all about them.

On our last full day, we ALL slept in. It was wonderful!
best part of vacation (not the last day but getting to sleep in, yet I never do that LOL)

I was hoping, hoping, hoping that we would get a great server- the last time ours was ok, but I wanted someone who would REALLY get in my kids' faces about...well, pretty much anything!! :rotfl:
thats what really makes that place, that and their bar lol

SOMEBODY needed help eating their green beans-
much better when its a teenager and not your 30yr old husband lol

Still not our table-
NO but that was our table!! when we were there in 09 lol
IMG_3459.jpg

Theresa asked what we would like for dessert, and reflexively we said, "Just the check please" which Timmy was NOT at ALL in favor of. It turns out one of his fave WDW desserts is here- S'mores $4.79
I like that kid, its mine too! and what is with your family skipping dessert, just letting you know if we ever meet up I do dessert.. and if i dont have my kids with me I skip food usually and go straight to alcohol and desserts.. dont judge! just prepairing you!

alright Laura, you me and Jen make up the next stateroom, we have room for a 4th for next years cruise (Tammie?) LOL IM in .. forget paying off the kids braces I got some moms to meet! :rotfl2:

Hooray updates!

Love the look of those smores! Only thing that'd make it better is a campfire, but Disney is close! :)

I hear ya Ellen! I think I went almost a month without checking in on DIS. Since I don't have a trip to plan for :sad1:....

Guess I have to book another one!

We are hitting WDW with the fam next year, so I will have to see. I probably won't be working, so who knows? :confused3 Is there a "snorinig cabin?" :lmao:

Yay! I made it before you finished! That is an accomplishment these days it seems.

Your trip to Hawaii looks AMAZING. You will be writing a TR on that, right? (pleaaaaaaase!)

Loving your TR, what a fun trip you had despite a few bumps along the way!

There is nothing better than coming home after a day's work and find two of your updates, Ellen!

Awww.....you are the sweetest person, Karin. I truly hope I get to meet you one day!

We have never been to Prime Time, looks fun, but teaching manners I am not sure I would like the antiques! :rotfl2:

Your food looks very yummy though. I LOVE the photo of Timmy biting into his Smores, so fun.

Yes- that pic of Sean cracks me up! The food there is just ok, well- except for the chicken! But the atmosphere is preiceless!

I need to finish up my trip report of our February cruise before you sail - I am doing my best, but we are leaving for DLRP on Saturday morning. ;)

So how was your weekend in Paris? I am VERY jealous!!

Hehe!!! Sean really does have an "OMG!" look on his face. Same look my daughter gives when anything green comes anywhere near her. :)

Confession: 15 plus trips to WDW and we have never been to the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Does that mean they take away my Mickey ears or something?

Yes, actually, I think it does! You are in BIG trouble!! ;) It is a very unique restaurant- and the success of the meal completely hinges on getting a great server. Although it IS coool just being in there, especially if you never have been before- it's like traveling in a time machine!

Great update!

I am like your son, I like a lot of veggies but I really don't like greens, I would definitely have to substitute those greens with something else or they would have to feed them to me, too! LOL

I am trying to pick out lots of new places on our November trip, too- which ones are you going to try? My booking window opens in 2 days....I'd better make my decision soon!!

holy moly...i must have done something because I missed a ton of updates

1) hope the meds are better now. Nothing like not having the right meds. I gave Beth allergy meds one day instead of the ritalin...ummm bad mom. Not a good day.

I speak with the dr tomorrow- hopefully something will help him. He is still alot more agitated than he needs to be, and VERY rigid- I think that's why he is upset so often, because things aren't EXACTLY THE SAME everyday. Personally, I am exhausted, and really need some answers. Cross your fingers.

2) That is terrifying that kids are old enough to go on transportation by themselves. I'm still getting over mine riding down the block to her friends house.

Tyler will be getting his drivers permit in a little over a year. I'm FREAKING OUT!!!:scared1:

3) Ahhhh taking part in everything at the resort...smart boy

4) I would have lost it if someone had fed me beans...

You don't eat string beans? :confused3

5) what a special night at MK with Timmy. Very cool

Yea- I enjoy having alone time with him. He's allllright, that kid!

6) Pods is awesome! Just awesome like I said before you two seem to be a great team making it work when it just seems like it is all falling apart. Glad you got away to Mexico!

Thanks, I agree- Pods is awesome. I am very fortunate to have such a supportive hubby!:lovestruc

7) Happy that I am not missing the PTR for the cruise...missing the cruise is hard enough. less than 2 weeks! Can't wait to hear those stories....how many depends and poise is Joan bringing?

I believe she has a full case packed.....:rotfl: We'll miss you!!!!

Love the picture of Sean with his Blue Dog.:goodvibes

The fried chicken is one of the best things on that menu, IMHO. And I LOVE that amoeba design! What a trip!

Sparkie!!! I LOVE it!! :rotfl2:

9 nights in November! That is awesome! :cool1: We have 9 nights in June (5 with my brothers family and 4 by ourselves, but our Daytona Beach Friends want us to come stay with them for a couple nights). So torn since I really don't want to give up any Disney time!

We are the same as you- 5 nights with Pods' younger brother and family (they are the ones we went to HHI with the first year with 3 boys) and now Pods Mom says she will come! VERY happy about that, because I think she will love being at Jambo with all the animals and friendly CMs- we scored a GV, I can't wait to see it!! 4 nights at BWV BV 1 bdrm by ourselves- we are going to visit Pods' aunt in the middle- but Sean is always miserable there, so I will probably stay behind with him and give them all a break (it really stresses Irma out when Sean is freaking, and usually I spend a couple of hours sitting in the car with him when we go just to give them some peace. UGH.) Aunt Irma is 97! :thumbsup2

Love 50's! Glad you got the great server. Is the sampling a new thing? I don't remember that on the menu when I was there last (2010). Then again I'm almost always only looking for the pot roast anyway.

You must be so excited about your upcoming trips! Can't wait to hear all about them.

Hey Sally! :goodvibes I thnk they added the sampler a year or 2 ago- very good way to try 3 things you were probably thinking about anyway. KWIM?

Only 4 more days!! :yay:

alright Laura, you me and Jen make up the next stateroom, we have room for a 4th for next years cruise (Tammie?) LOL IM in .. forget paying off the kids braces I got some moms to meet! :rotfl2:

Maybe I'll be the fourth- I don't know if anyone else is going next year! We may be on DISmom hiatus. :worried: Well- I'm still going to WDW in the spring with Lonnie, I know that. And I am DEFINITELY coming to DL in August 2013- flying into San Fran, staying there a couple of nights, then Yosemite for 2 nights, then a night in between on the road, then 4 nights in DL...so GET READY Drea!! :yay: You all had better be coming to see us!!

Yes you do! I love my DVC for just that reason- I always know there are more trips to plan to Disney! :goodvibes

I know forget everything when it comes to the DISmoms trips. :goodvibes

Exactly!!! :rotfl:

We are hitting WDW with the fam next year, so I will have to see. I probably won't be working, so who knows? :confused3 Is there a "snorinig cabin?" :lmao:

Oh boy...a snoring cabin...:scared1:

Yay! I made it before you finished! That is an accomplishment these days it seems.

I'm so proud of you!!

Your trip to Hawaii looks AMAZING. You will be writing a TR on that, right? (pleaaaaaaase!)

Of course!! :thumbsup2
Loving your TR, what a fun trip you had despite a few bumps along the way!

Thanks- it was fun- crazy to think it was 6 months ago! Already time to make ADRs for this year's November trip!

Sorry Ellen! I am way behind again on my dising. As always, still enjoying your report and sad it is almost over. A few comments:

While this may not have bee your best trip with Sean it still sounds like you are all dealing with everything well and having a good time. Glad he enjoyed 50"s PT.

I know what you mean about sleeping in on the last day. We did that back in December when we were at VWL and it was great and we still were able to do most of what we wanted. Unfortunately we missed our ADR at 50's PT, so that will have to be saved for another trip.

Hope you got all your November ADRs done. We booked a late October trip at BLT at just over six months so we did not have a lot of time to think about ADRs. I did find it much easier to get what I wanted now that they require a cc deposit.

Your get away with Pods looked wonderful and I love your bracelet.

Keep your trip reports coming. I always love reading them!

Well, I am back from my latest adventure (TR soon to be started) with the DISmoms, and OF COURSE, we had a blast! But let me get on with the rest of this one for now...

Bellies full, we made a beeline over to TSM. Which...Sean would not ride. But he has never gone on that ride- which is so sad to me, because the Toy Story characters are by FAR his favorite. Oh well. (On a brighter note, this new med that has been added, buspar, seems to be helping. So maybe in November....I have my fingers crossed!). So while Pods & T&T rode that, Sean and I strolled....

Ok- this just posted on me, no idea why, but back to more in an edit....

IMG_3471.jpg

Looks like they had some cute drinks for the upcoming holidays...

IMG_3472.jpg

Sean was happy, so life was GOOD!

IMG_3473.jpg

IMG_3474.jpg

He was even willing to visit OMD, although very briefly. What can I say...but baby steps are treasured even at 17....

IMG_3475.jpg

IMG_3476.jpg

I got a text that the boys were out, and we were all going to meet near Animation. It seems Pods was the big LOSER in their game, and was giving push-ups to his kids as a prize-

Drop and give me TWENTY!!
IMG_3478.jpg

We were going in to draw, but had a bit of a wait, so Sean tried some of the interactives-

Looks like he is Tarzan-
IMG_3481.jpg

He really enjoyed this-

IMG_3484.jpg

It was then time for drawing class, so Pods & Sean went back to BCV for a swim while the boys and I headed in to draw....Daisy Duck!

We all had masterpieces when we were done!

That is one of my FAVORITE experiences in WDW- Just love it!
