Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

Ellen, I thought I had replied to your last posts earlier, but :confused3 somehow it doesn't look like it!

Sorry Sean wasn't happy with the long wait, but to be honest, I would not have been happy with the wedges. I really like the food at the Wave and yours looked yummy too.

Good thing Timmy wasn't too tired to tackle the MK with you! :thumbsup2 It looks so neat at night, all decked out. :goodvibes

Hi there! I think that is a good time to go- it may get a little crowded towards the end of the week, but nothing like Christmas kind of crowds. We will be there then, too- coming down Nov 2nd and leaving on Nov 10th. Usually the weather has been great for us- this time we just had the one day that was chilly- so the pool is good then too. Where are you staying?

I think we may do Nov 1 - Nov 8. I'll take my (will then be) 3rd grader and preschooler out for a few days. I am wondering if they will run any discounts at that time. It was between end of Aug and early Nov but I don't think I can do the heat of August again!

I am leaning toward the Beach Club since it is so convenient to walk to Epcot, HS, and of course Boardwalk. Plus your pictures make it look so great!!! I'm thinking I should book the room now because I know BC fills up fast for F&W, right?

eye yi yi!!! im so behind.. but all caught up now. Lets see if i remember all my comments

1) Trip with the girls how FUN.. I loved seeing those pics on your FB
2) trip with Pods.. how FUN. Looks like an awesome resort. I will have to keep it in mind.. for who knows when. I loved that they brought you full bottles and didnt have the watered down stuff kept in there like some other resorts. Sweet!
3)ALOHHHHAAAA- Omg so so cool of that trip coming up! Cant wait to hear more about it!
4) DisMoms cruise is right around the corner too huh. So what do those plans look like, is there a pre trip report coming or am i late to that one too!?

someone get the peanut butter cuz boy am i Jelly of you!

now back on this trippy report, so glad for the most part you all are enjoying your days in disney together. Glad the rougher times were short lived (or at least it sounds that way) and you all were able to enjoy your time togehter. I love hearing how patient you all are with eachother!

Cant wait to hear more.

I am loving your trip report and how you make the most out of every available minute of every day!! Can't wait to see how your evening with Timmy was at the MK. We are usually too tired to stick around too late :rolleyes1

I think you're right- it was a good thing he didn't see the wedges! Oh, man, he was a wreck that night. Wasn't too great this morning either, but that's another story- the pharmacy (no doubt because of insurance rules) switched his lexipro to a generic- and didn't ask or tell us. :furious: This type of drug- well, the generic is not always as effective, and , as in the past when we tried to switch to a generic, it did NOT work for him. When I noticed his pills' label, I was furious! I am SO MAD at them for switching to this without any warning! I think there is a new pharmacist at our pharmacy because the other ones would NEVER do this without mentioning it, or asking. I had a VERY long talk with him- he also screwed up another perscription and gave us 1/3 of what Sean needs. Anyway, so now we are, once again, waiting for the medicine to kick in. Everyday I keep hoping that today is the day- but, unfortunately, this today was NOT. Nothing like getting yelled at for 1/2 an hour in the morning before the bus comes. :sad2: UGH.
Sorry- I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening-:flower3:

Our pharmacist made me think I was making things up when I told him my autistic son did not do well on generic versions of drugs. Even when the doctor would write no substitutions and no generics we sometimes ended up with them. I feel so bad that a pharmacist had his hand in disrupting your vacation.

You and Pods are a great team with Sean. The boys are also great at understanding. Sean is very lucky to have such a loving and caring family!

Really enjoy reading your report. My ds has MAJOR anxiety and one minute he wants to go on a ride,so we wait on line and then he can't do it.As far as food goes we have about ten things he will eat and if it looks different than what he is use to he won't eat it! I love how your family just goes with the flow.:)

Hi Lady! I missed your updates with Jim coming home and then leaving for Phoenix - just realized it. Loved the Osborne Lights videos! Funny how Tim is in the "too cool for school" mode. :rotfl2: So typical for his age. Well, you know how I feel about savory breakfast - looks good if Jim was eating it! :goodvibes I'm sorry Sean was struggling - hard on everyone, I'm sure.

I worked at a Peds clinic - I know that so many of those type of meds don't work for patients if they are generic. That is just something the pharmacy should not pull on you. Up to this day, it seemed he was having a really good time. I'm glad you and the T's got to have a nice dinner.

So....I'm goping to update and then go back for replies, ok?

Tim and I got a BURST of energy when we entered the Magic Kingdom (see? It really IS magical!). My boys always want to ride Space Mountain first, so we headed there-

IMG_3379.jpg

We did not have much of a wait, which I often find to be the case on these nightime excursions-

IMG_3385.jpg

IMG_3386.jpg

That's me, in the middle, VERY happy not to be in the front row OR the last one. :goodvibes

IMG_3387.jpg

From there, we went over to ride the other two mountains. On the way, we saw-

IMG_3388.jpg

We also saw-

IMG_3397.jpg

IMG_3399.jpg

IMG_3401.jpg

Alice on the shroom-

IMG_3403.jpg

IMG_3406.jpg

After our usual mountain trifecta, we realized even the pixie dust couldn't keep us awake- it had been a long day. So we decided to head back, through the glorious castle.

oooohhhh....I do love those icicles....

We were home in no time, having GREAT transport mojo, and hit the sack as soon as we got in! Tomorrow was our last full day...and we'd be making up for lost time at DHS in the morning...coming up next!

Our meal was good at The Wave- I wouldn't say it's my favorite restaurant on property, but I would go again. :goodvibes And I was glad timmy had it in him- I would have been so sad if we had not gone to the park that night! Plus, I REALLY loved spending time with just us.

I think we may do Nov 1 - Nov 8. I'll take my (will then be) 3rd grader and preschooler out for a few days. I am wondering if they will run any discounts at that time. It was between end of Aug and early Nov but I don't think I can do the heat of August again!

They usually don't have discounts then- well, maybe for the first few days. But as soon as it is NJ week, I think they feel pretty confident about filling hotel rooms, and I've not seen a lot of discounts then. Before then and after then, yes, but not during- unless it's one of the ones you get when you rebook while you're staying there. I'd book now, and then rebook if a discount comes up. You never really know what they'll do!

BC is our favorite location- to me, it feels like you are practically in Epcot when you stay there, it is just so close by. Have you booked?

It was definitely your kind of place- you should go in January 2013- that's when all the cool kids are going.
3)ALOHHHHAAAA- Omg so so cool of that trip coming up! Cant wait to hear more about it!

Yea- isn't that a BIG wow!! :yay: It seems so far away, but will be here before we know it!

4) DisMoms cruise is right around the corner too huh. So what do those plans look like, is there a pre trip report coming or am i late to that one too!?

No PTR- you'll have to wait to hear if I jump overboard from sleeping with Kara for 4 nights or not. You can look forward to being SURPRISED!!! :dance3:

someone get the peanut butter cuz boy am i Jelly of you!

You're jelly of me, you're jelly of Kara- why don't ya just come with us already and stop bein so jelly all the time! :rotfl:

now back on this trippy report, so glad for the most part you all are enjoying your days in disney together. Glad the rougher times were short lived (or at least it sounds that way) and you all were able to enjoy your time togehter. I love hearing how patient you all are with eachother!

Thanks- we are not always patient with each other, but it's good we all try. :thumbsup2

THANKS!! I get very, very sad if i go home and feel like I haven't accomplished something- so I really force myself sometimes- but, then again, we don't do commando anymore, and I think I've been to rope drop like once in my whole life- ok, maybe 3 or 4 times....so, we sleep in a little so it's not so rough all day. It's what works for us.:thumbsup2

The castle is always so lovely to look at but add in the Christmas lights and it's just simply breathtaking.

Looks like you made some magical memories that night with Timmy! How nice to have so much fun together.

The park and castle look so awesome all decked out for Christmas. Thanks for sharing.

How long until your cruise? :goodvibes

I just love the way the lights shimmer on the castle. It's grand fun you & Timmy get to do things together.;)

P.S. I have finally finally FINALLY FOUND THE time to read not only this tr "cover to cover" but also two of Nikki's ("We are keeping the Moon") as well.

Love em!!:goodvibes

ALOHA -

DSC01161.jpg

On our last full day, we ALL slept in. It was wonderful!
Today we had an 11:30 ADR at 50's Prime Time Cafe, so when we finally got our act together, that's where we headed off to- hopefully, we would have better luck this morning taking the boat over!

IMG_3424.jpg

IMG_3425.jpg

IMG_3426.jpg

The pics are getting me excited for my upcoming trip in less than 2 weeks! :woohoo:

IMG_3427.jpg

IMG_3428.jpg

IMG_3431.jpg

Well, it was looking good- only 10 people were waiting for the boat, so I think we'd get to ride today- woohoo!! Timmy was hanging in here-

IMG_3433.jpg

Not that long ago, when the boys were little, and we were waiting on the dock, they would play cops and robbers in here- only place they ever played that game, too. Time goes too fast with kids sometimes.

We arrived to a show when we entered DHS-

IMG_3436.jpg

Tyler, my metalhead, was less than thrilled about it. He is just sooooo cool, that kid! ANYWAY....the boys and I rode StarWars before heading over to the restaurant-

IMG_3437.jpg

IMG_3438.jpg

I was hoping, hoping, hoping that we would get a great server- the last time ours was ok, but I wanted someone who would REALLY get in my kids' faces about...well, pretty much anything!! :rotfl:

IMG_3439.jpg

As usual, we were seated at a table with no tv- not a big deal, we could see the tvs at other nearby tables perfectly well, it's just funny that the last time we had a tv table was when Pods & I came here on MGM opening day- and that was a loooooomg time ago! We were seated with a minimum wait, though, which I'm guessing had to do with us having the 11:30 ADR. Usually we wait 45 minutes for our tv-less table.

IMG_3440.jpg

IMG_3441.jpg

It must be our size of 5.

IMG_3443.jpg

Well, we may not have scored a tv dinner (lunch), but we scored BIG on a CM, Theresa, who would mess with us. LOVED HER!!!!! She had some choice words for too-cool-Tyler-

IMG_3444.jpg

She started right in on Timmy- called him Abercrombie (still now when he wears that shirt, I giggle!).

IMG_3445.jpg

She even started in on Pods, but he said something nice, and she became his fan for life-

IMG_3446.jpg

Of course, I, as the Mom, was treated like a queen. And she was so sweet to Sean-

IMG_3447.jpg

See, I think what happens with alot of the servers, is that they see we have a special needs situation, so they go overboard with kindness- which is absolutely WONDERFUL- except when you are looking to be abused HERE. :) But THIS CM was the perfect combo of abuse and kindness! SCORE!

Cont'd next post-

I'm glad you had a good server at 50's PTC.... for me that is the ONLY saving grace there..... :confused3

Oh Ellen! I know I am late responding to this because my DIS time this month has been about 1/4 of my usual time. That sounds so frustrating. I hope you were able to get the trade lex without waiting much longer. Must be so hard.

Enjoyed your last update, although I can't see pics. Doesn't matter - a mountain trifecta sounds wonderful right now! And yeah for good bus mojo!

We were skipping apps today and went straight for the main meal. I had Caesar Salad - Romaine lettuce tossed with caesar dressing, grated parmesan, and garlic croutons. With Salmon $15.49

IMG_3448.jpg

I definitely enjoyed it. Both Pods & Tyler ordered A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings $19.99

IMG_3449.jpg

Both of them said my meatloaf is better (DUH!) :snooty: but the rest they enjoyed. Timmy was going for Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and southern greens (although we subbed green beans) $16.99

IMG_3451.jpg

Which, of course, he loved- what's not to love about a great big plate of fried chicken?! Sean had the kid's Macaroni & cheese- a couple of bowls full-

IMG_3453.jpg

Tyler also ordered a PB&J shake.

IMG_3454.jpg

SOMEBODY needed help eating their green beans-

IMG_3455.jpg

IMG_3456.jpg

Someone else needed help finishinng their yummy shake (although he really didn't WANT any help, but Pods insisted)

IMG_3457.jpg

Tyler also needed help finishing veggies- notice the look of terror on Sean's face- I think he was thinkin, "Oh NO! She'd better not be coming for me next!" :rotfl:

IMG_3458.jpg

Impressive that he ate them- he LOVES veggies, but NOT any kind of greens. Way to go Theresa!!

Still not our table-

IMG_3459.jpg

IMG_3461.jpg

Theresa asked what we would like for dessert, and reflexively we said, "Just the check please" which Timmy was NOT at ALL in favor of. It turns out one of his fave WDW desserts is here- S'mores $4.79

IMG_3463.jpg

IMG_3465.jpg

He was a happy camper! We said goodbye to Theresa- when we return this November, I hope we are fortunate enough to have lunch with her again. :goodvibes

Up next- a really fun day at DHS!!

The castle is always so lovely to look at but add in the Christmas lights and it's just simply breathtaking.

YES!!! It truly is! I was fortunate to have been there the first time the icicles were EVER turned on- it brought tears to my eyes then, and it brings tears to my eyes now. BREATHTAKING !!!

Looks like you made some magical memories that night with Timmy! How nice to have so much fun together.

The park and castle look so awesome all decked out for Christmas. Thanks for sharing.

How long until your cruise? :goodvibes

I do enjoy having fun with each boy alone sometimes- it's very special to have it be just "us". :goodvibes

The cruise sails two weeks from yesterday- I watched her sailaway last night on the PC Cam. I can't believe it's almost HERE!!!!!

I just love the way the lights shimmer on the castle. It's grand fun you & Timmy get to do things together.;)

Thanks- I agree, it is very, very special. Both the castle and the time alone with Tim! :thumbsup2

If you can fit in the suitcase, you can come! :rotfl:

It IS exciting, going to Hawaii- and we have sooo many wonderful plans. I can't Wait!!!:banana::banana:

I'm glad you had a good server at 50's PTC.... for me that is the ONLY saving grace there..... :confused3

Yea- it is not the best dining in Disney, but it is one of the most fun and is consistently requested by my kids. The salad was good- I noticed (when looking at the menu on Allears) that there is a new fish of the day entree- I would try that next time. And I like their onion rings. And.....that's about it for me!

Sounds great! The perfect combo of abuse and kindness! :lmao::lmao:

:thumbsup2 She WAS!!! :thumbsup2

Oh Ellen! I know I am late responding to this because my DIS time this month has been about 1/4 of my usual time. That sounds so frustrating. I hope you were able to get the trade lex without waiting much longer. Must be so hard.

PLEASE don't apologize- I have been so busy this year, I am always having trouble keeping up with the DIS- right now when I have been on, I've been reading alot of food stuff because my 6 month ADR window is opening soon for November- and that's a big trip- 9 nights- so lots of planning to do! I really want to try some new (to us) ones- as well as the new one that will open in Fantasyland, Be Our Guest. I've never been to WDW for this much time all at once- really looking forward to it. :thumbsup2 But then- I'm really looking forward to every vacation this year, OF COURSE!!! :rotfl:
