I have to ask...how many little boys actually watched 'Tangled'?? I'm not trying to be argumentative here, but seriously? 'Tangled' is aimed at preteen and teen girls...especially preteen girls.
I guess our family is different than most. I enjoy movies aimed at "boys/men" and "girls/women". So does my husband. Not every single one mind you, but the majority.

I plan on my kids growing up realizing they can enjoy a variety of books/tv/movies - not just those aimed at their gender.
I loved The Princess & the Frog and Tangled as they had male characters fully involved & fleshed out in their own right, right from the beginning. Not like Disney movies of old where the male hero/prince is added almost as an "after thought".
And I really like that Disney and other movie makers have finally made "family movies" REALLY "family movies". The ones of old, while good, seriously failed to appeal to many parents I feel. I know my parents did not want to watch "kids" movies with us most of the time, but did. Now, movie makers are really making an attempt to reach out to the whole family. And in most cases have added adult humour that just flies above kids heads.

On the flip side, TV shows like Ben 10 and Avatar: the last airbender are aimed more at boys, no? My daughter (and I) like to watch these just as much as my husband & son.
