Flynn Rider leaving Tangled M&G 07/03 ???

I have a son so this hurts him as well as the girls. We have collected autographs for years. Many years he would collect princess kisses. His little 4 year old faced was covered one year. Now he will be 9 on our next trip and we are finally in the girls are gross and I don't want to meet them phase. However if the Princes are there, then he isn't meeting a princess but a pair. Now if the princes are gone, we won't be in those lines. The princes aren't only for the girls with crushes, but the boys to look up to. If they want to make things more family friendly, instead of for girls, then it is time to make the meet and greets for both boys and girls.

If this is true, then I am so glad I got to do both of those meet and greets when I did! Really sad if they take them away. They've been some of the best meets ever!

They have to make cuts to pay for the extra Fantasmic shows somewhere. LOL!

I wonder if they will be out for MNSSHP and MVMCP. That at least would be some consolation. But no way would I wait that long during a party to see either of them. During a park day is one thing, especially if you have OTHER park days ahead of you still. But there's too much other exclusive stuff to miss at a party.

I will wait, if they are there I will get in line and do it first thing. We are doing mnsshp twice so I hope that Flynn is there.

I was really excited about this M&G. The only Prince I've met is Prince Charming with Cinderella, and honestly he's pretty boring.

My heart really does go out to all these little girls who wanted to meet a "Prince". Everything is SO much about the Princesses....but lets face it, in the land of fairy tales....a little girl doesn't become a Princess until she meets a Prince.

Not necessarily but definitely would be nice to have the Princes out more (Rapunzel is actually a Princess on her own right. Flynn doesn't become a Prince until he mets her.)

My DD is bummed because we only recently saw the movie so she wanted to add it to her "I want to meet them"...when I told her she just asked me "are they having troubling casting male roles or what?" :rotfl: I highly doubt that though because I'm sure there are just as many males as their are females for acting roles when it comes to Disney (always the theatrical personality coming out wondering if they are having trouble getting males to audition - we run into that a lot at our local theatre).

My theatre background says there is no shortage of men available , but a cost cutter.

The male face characters always seem to be more entertaining and interactive than the princesses (who seem to be a bit too in character sometimes, all quiet and pretty but not very fun!).

THIS. In September I got to meet Ariel and Eric together along with Aladdin and Jasmine together and Eric and Aladdin both had much more to say to us than Ariel and Jasmine. Ariel popped into the conversation a little bit, especially when I told her she was my favorite princess (she's my fave Disney character actually), but other than that didn't say much and Eric had an entire story to tell us. Jasmine just kinda stood there and watched as Aladdin made all the conversation and asked us where we were from, did we like Agrabah, and etc. They really are much more entertaining.

I am disappointed. We are going in September and this is my son and daughter's favorite Disney movie. They were both excited to have the chance to meet both Rapunzel and Flynn. everything keeps getting removed before they have the chance to see it :(

Naveen was by far the best on our last trip. He commented on us being the only folks who weren't wearing purple & gold (this was on Mardi Gras) and asked DD2 if she'd even been to New Orleans. When she said no, he told Tiana that they should take her home for a visit. DD, who can be a little shy/clingy at times, actually climbed up on his lap and waved goodbye to me! :rotfl:

We keep running into the same (fabulous, chatty) Belle, but other than that the Princesses always seem a bit like photo props. Aside from that Belle all our best character interactions have been with male face characters... Flynn, Naveen, Aladdin, Capt Jack, and Peter Pan all have their own magic memories. Sad that Aladdin and Peter Pan are the only ones Disney sees fit to keep. :(

I just read comfirmation on the HUB. Flynn is leaving on 07/03 and he will be available for MNSSHP and MVMCP. No word on Naveen

Many thanks for that info! I'm wondering if all of a sudden they are the long line to beat at all the parties!

In the Disney movie, yes. The movie is SO far from the fairytale it isn't even funny though. In the fairy tale, it is the Kings son who finds Rapunzel (who was just a common child taken away because of a deal her father had made with the evil enchantress to keep is wife alive).

Tangled was an ok movie on its on, but if you are looking to it for the story of the fairy tale - it is not even close.

I loved the role of "Flynn" in the movie and think he should stay for M&G, however I do wonder why he uses the name Flynn since its his rogue name. Once married, he would officially have to go by Eugene. If the M&G is a portrayal of them pre-marriage, then he is actually not a Prince (theoretically speaking)

I guess that wll be our first stop on mnsshp. However when we went last year I think they came out after 8 or later. Anyone remember?

I have come across a very wonderful Belle before too who was very chatty. Saw her in Toontown one night. Haha maybe we're talking about the same one! :thumbsup2 Cinderella and Aurora were in there with her and they were just kind of meh opposed to her. I have met a very wonderful Wendy though. She was with Peter and they were awesome!

Lovely... we were looking forward to surprising our kids with the meet & greet in September. They don't know that Rapunzel & Flynn Rider and Phineas & Ferb are in the parks to meet.

Thanks for the e-mail link. I wrote in to protest against Flynn Rider's removal as well.

This is so depressing, honestly I feel as if people are being cheated. Yeah you can get them at the parties but Halloween is not an occasion for loving couples. Halloween and xmas are a different kind of theme. It's villains, spooky stuff, cookies, and hot cocoa. It's not st. Valentine plain and simple. What was exactly the point of marketing the movie for boys if they weren't planning on carrying on with the theme at the parks, merchandising, or anything else.

There are several petitions going on and there is a facebook page, but I think people should let them know their discontent over this whole thing. Folks write up to Disney and let them know. I don't think this is right.

Mary Poppins at 1900 Park Fare said that she may let Mr. Rider use her umbrella for his upcoming long journey.

Dude,
It's Disney. There are talking animals and a movie where Hera is really Hecules' mom. It's not always going to be accurate. Doesn't the Little Mermaid die in the actual story? Seriously, it's Disney and you're over thinking it.
