Sun Country's fall rates dropped this morning. Around $260 RT w/tax. Their schedules don't work great for us, so I'm hoping that Delta tries to compete. We'll see. Just wanted to pass this along to my fellow Minnesotans, though.

Better, still not as good as their rates for that time last year! They had fall and winter rates as low as $69 one way. We have $400 in SC vouchers to use up by Feb 15th. I want to go to WDW so bad! I am constantly checking to see how cheap we could get there!!!

Looks like Delta might be trying to compete with Sun Country! After checking fares all day, I popped on tonight and found that Delta had significantly lowered fares for our dates, so we booked! Got the exact flights we wanted (Weds 11/10 eve to Sun 11/14) for grand total (including tax) of $279/each. These same flights were $349 earlier in the day. Still not the fare I was shooting for, but worth jumping on. And if they go down further in the next 24 hours, I can always cancel and rebook for free. So relieved to finally have this booked!

We ended up adding a night to the end of our trip and booking with Sun Country. Got direct flights at the times we wanted for under $260.00 a tickets. We really wanted to go with Delta (for the miles) but this was under our goal price and now we get to stay an extra night!

We have lived here in Minnesota for 5 years now and have never paid more than $300 round trip to MCO. We are traveling March 2011 (March 12 - 20 to be exact) for our next visit to the world and I am in total shock at the price and horrible flight times. What's with that fellow Minnesotans? Is this typical? Is there hope that these fares will come down for that time of year? I'm sick to my stomach because I borrowed our DVC points from the following year and can't give them back. I had no idea fares would be that high for March. Give me hope please!!!

We're going down the same dates. I am playing the waiting game with you. Like I said on another thread, I'm watching allegiant... they fly Duluth to Sanford, but they look like pretty decent prices thus far, and they're non stop. Of course, they are only out until the end of January right now...

Remember earlier in the thread, I commented on not being happy with prices for my Nov/Dec trip?

Here's a refresh: Since the dates came available, the flights were way over $300 pp/RT. There were times it bumped up over $400.

I'm headed down the day after Thanksgiving.

A week or so ago, YAPTA emailed me that one of my ideal flight schedules had dropped. A LOT.

I got my flights for $249pp/RT.

Could it go lower...maybe. But I was not willing to roll the dice and possibly lose out on what I felt was a fair deal.

This is the latest I've ever waited to buy airfare for a pre-planned trip. But I think that's the way we have to play the game now.

By the way, if you don't have YAPTA, get yourself over to http://yapta.com and sign up for it. Even though I had checked flights around 7am, Yapta emailed me around 10am with the news that the flight price had dropped.

Those of you waiting for March flights...my guess is Oct/Nov is when you'll see your significant drop.

Even though I already booked it for $279 total, I just got an alert from Yapta that our November flight dropped to $235 total. Anyone who's still holding out for fall/winter rate drops might want to check out Delta ASAP!

Agree with MrMarv.

Anything under $300 (inclusive of taxes and fees) is good.

Anything under $250 is a miracle and you should jump on it before it disappears.

Hoping for non-stop, which is pretty much Delta or Sun Country, right?

We just booked our flights on Monday... round trip non stop for the two of us for a little less than $500. We're flying air tran. I like that they fly out of the small terminal.

I also booked airtran for December 6-16th. I was going to fly out on the 7th but I wanted non-stop airtran flight so added a night to the trip so I wouldnt waste a day as non stop flight arrives at 7pm. Now, lets hope airtran doesnt change the schedule too much cause im cutting it pretty close on the return flight after getting off of the cruise ship. Good luck to all those still waiting! FYI I was waiting on Delta sale forever, and the price never dipped below $300, I got airtran round trip for $219 -$24 a person in vouchers I got from a promo code per person, so great deal!

Why does it have to be non stop? I find that if I'm searching for lowest price you need to be flexible and that often means a stop.

I can't answer for the other posters, but the best case scenario for a flight with a stop is probably adding 90 minutes total travel time each way or 3hrs round trip. How much is that time worth to you ? How about the hassle factor if there's a plane change and you're trying to shuffle multiple kids around an unfamiliar airport?

We're flying down in a couple weeks and do have a stop (though no plane change) each way in Chicago. I'd rather be flying nonstop, but roundtrip fares on Southwest ended up at $135/person vs $300+ for non-stop. So to me it was worth it, for folks with more money or less free time the other choice may have been their preferred option...

It doesnt have to be, but when the flight is only 3 hours and it is available that is our preference. In addition my hubby is terriefied of flying and if we had to take off on another flight he wouldnt be happy. He is a mess the whole time, the doc has to give him xannax, so yes it is purely personal preference. (and yes he knows is an irrational fear, but it still gets to him)

We are going the same dates too! We have traveled to WDW over spring break for many years now. I usually book in October as that is when I have found the best deals. Good luck!

Spring Break this year seems really weird. Our dates are March 10-19, which normally is early for spring break in MN.

The March 10 flight sold out right away for Sun Country and when Airtran came out with their schedule the flights for 200-400 each way! I caught the non-stops a few days ago at $114 each way and booked 9 of us. $249 is an acceptable price, though we have never paid more than about $220 out of MSP. It is hard to get used to the higher prices, but I was willing to pay $249. Someone above had a target number of $250, which is what I was using as well......

Now, if they run a sale, I can call back and get a credit to my A+ account for the difference... I will be watching closely!
