Can I bring a 20" carry-on case on wheels and a small tote bag/purse for carryons? On the website it says you might be able to bring a 2nd item (my small tote/purse) if there's room. Most of the time there is right? Will a small tote bag be too big? It will be me and my DD flying, I'll have the carry-on case and tote bag and DD will have a backpack. Anyone flown on Midwest and know about this or should I just call and ask?
Also, is 90 minutes early enough to check in at the airport in Milwaukee? That's what our paperwork says to do, or should I allow more time, like 2 hours. (We're flying out on Thurs., Oct 26).
And 1 more question, if I have vitamins, tylenol, etc, should I put that in my carry-on or checked luggage?
Thanks for all your help! :goodvibes As you can see I'm a new flyer!

I would think your ok. If its too big then they will gate check it for you. Besides if your DD is a ticketed passenger she can also have a carry on. That Thurs is the beginning of Teachers convention, I think. The airport may be busy but i would think 1.5 should be good. Love will love Midwest!!!

I've flown Midwest a few times - not to Orlando. I really liked the airline. I think you should be fine with your bags as long as the 20 inch is an approved size for a carryon. I think 90 minutes is more than plenty of time for Milwaukee. Every time we have flown out of Milwaukee, it has taken no time at all to check in and go through security. I recommend doing curbside check-in if you have any other suitcases to check. It is really fast. I would put valuable and any medications that you can't live without in your carry-on, just in case your luggage is lost or delayed. Enjoy your trip.

Hi!
We have flown Midwest from Milwaukee to Orlando the past three trips to Disney and I am very happy with it. The prices are right for a nice direct flight.

The pp was right...if your carry-on is a tad too big they might require you gate check it which isn't bad at all. It will be waiting for you the minute you exit the plane. I never measured our carry-ons, but I would guess they are on the larger size and we've never had any problems.

90 mins shouldn't be too bad as long as you have everything in order. Our last trip I stupidly packed our film in my luggage and had to waste precious time rooting around trying to find it and stick it in my carry-on. That said, we were through the security gates and ready to go well before our flight.

What time flight are you doing? I always do the earliest flight (7:30AM) and the airport is usually a bit quieter for the most part.

I would probably pack at least the Tylenol in your carry-on. In the rare case your luggage is lost...you will probably get a headache while they search for it and it would be nice to have your Tylenol handy! ;)

If you have a lot of questions I would call the airline. When I had to travel alone with my DS last trip (DH joined us later)...I was nervous and had a ton of questions. The customer service people were a Godsend to me. This time they weren't so helpful...I requested they seat my 4 yr old DS AWAY from us and the customer service lady said she couldn't...HMPH! :rotfl2: (I was just kidding...but not when I asked if she could relocate my seat! :thumbsup2 )

I wanted to add that I'm not an expert flier...the only time we fly is when we are headed to Disney...but I found both Mitchell Airport and Orlando Airport fairly easy to navigate...so don't be worried about that! Like I said before I flew alone with my then 18mo DS and was able to get where I needed to go. The worst part for me was once I got the rental car I had a bit of a problem actually leaving the airport grounds. I felt like I was in National Lampoon's vacation as I passed the exit we needed 3, 4, 5, 6, etc times...luckily DS was sleeping and no one was the wiser (except the cops who were probably watching me on the security cameras).

I hope you have a great trip! You are actually leaving the day we will be returning!

Thanks for all the advice! :goodvibes We are leaving on the 7:30 flight. My carry-on case is 20" and their limit is 21", so I think I'll be fine, I'll probably end up just carrying a purse for my other piece of carry-on. And we're checking the one bag. I'm sure I"ll have more questions as our trip gets closer. Thanks again! :)

Im sure you will be fine, i just flew out of Mitchell on Midwest a few weeks ago and had both a purse and carry on. Also we got there 2 hours ahead of time, and that was too much time. We were at our gate within 20 minutes of arriving, it made a long wait for the kids. Im sure 90 minutes will be fine! Ill also be flying out on the day after you, on Friday! :cool1:
