We are planning a trip to the World next May and will be flying out of O'hare. I am wondering what I should expect to pay for a round trip flight to Orlando. Prices seem high right now. Has anyone else booked airfare for May? Any info. is appreciated! ::MickeyMo

just booked airfare last night for may 2006. ohare to mco direct flight at times that work for us = $290.90 round trip. Price seems high, but I had to use are miles for 3 of our tickets and felt I needed to lock those tickets in now. (see other thread about this subject).

You should be able to get a round trip, non-stop, for under $200. Check out Spirit Airlines. We have flown them several times and have been satisfied. I have never paid $280 for a round trip flight to Orlando during that time of year (May/June). That rate should be more for Thanksgiving or Christmas time. We are paying $287 per seat on American for the week before Christmas. I would check around the first of the year. In 2003, I booked Spirit in early January for a June trip and paid $157 per ticket, round trip. Good luck! :)

out of Rockford you may be able to get a better deal. Only a little over an hour from Chicago. Parking is free. Small airport is easy to get in and out of. I booked tickets with Allegiant air to Orlando-Sanford for $59 each way. Of couse no ME from Sanford but we were planning to rent a car anyway.

We're going in early December and our Southwest tickets were <$100 round trip each. I haven't seen anything out of ORD that will touch that.

I agree with OP. You shouldn't pay more than $200. Not sure of your reasons to stick with ORD, but we have flown SWA out of MDW the last 3 years around mid May and usually pay alittle over $100 RT including fees. Even for week after Thanksgiving we're paying $559 total for the 5 of us!!
Good Luck!!

Any chance you can fly out of Midway? We've gotten SW as low as $85 roundtrip via Ding.

If you can I'd definitely look to either MDW or Milwaukee if possible to fly. The only relatively good price that I've seen out of ORD in quite a while has been on Spirit.

We're flying out of Midway on ATA for $500 RT for 4. Another thing you might want to check is the day you're flying out and the day you're coming back. Originally we were going to go out the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, but when I switched to Monday the airfare went down $200+.

But check any airline that will fly to Orlando Sanford, not to Orlando International Airport. It could be more economical to your advantage. I also recomend that you take public transportation like LYNX, they can transfer from that airport on bus #34 to bus #39, bound to the Bus terminal in Downtown Orlando and you can take The Disney Shuttle #50. Cost is $1.50 per person compared to a taxi ride around $50+ dollars.
