Hi
Just booked some disney accomodation for august 2010.
Virgin have their flydrives available for £3100 for 19 nights 2 adults and 2 kids but I haven't added the price of the car on yet.
Just wondered from peoples experience whether to book the flydrive(virgin said i will lose my deposit if i change) or wait for the flights to come out.
we are travelling in school holidays. Do prices usually come out cheaper at first for flights and then go up or should I just book the flydrive to secure the dates? How much roughly would we pay for flights at that time?

Thanks

Personally I would not pay so much for flights but I make it easier booking my flights 1st then I am not tied to specific dates. The more flexible you are the more chance you have of cutting the price, fly Mon-Weds can usually save a bit compared to Weekend, I belive VH still charge a weekend surcharge.
We have flown mainly in school hols, almost always book within the 11 month window when flight only seats are available.
For this August there has been Indirect from £316, Direct (Virgin) from £350. I have business class indirect for £465. the offers come and go but you have to check every day they are usually gone within a few days.
If you are not willing to put the hours in searching, not flexible or are impatient then the flydrive might be the best option.
Good luck.

That does sound like a lot for flights, i,ve posted on another topic about travel city ( owned by virgin now) doing flydrives for next year, i got a great quote from them , nearly £300 quid cheaper than virgin including car hire and all incurance and tax, you cant do it online yet, need to call them direct. :woohoo:( my price was £1578 for 2 adults ,1 child for 25th june 2010)

Try JetSave........We've just arrived home from a JetSave Flydrive - flew with Virgin but saved about £500 on the Virgin prices......:thumbsup2

Hi all

Thanks for all the replys, it was really helpful!
After reading good things called Travel City Direct and they quoted me an excellent price for a full package, so I have booked with them.
I would recommend to anyone to give them a try for a price comparison as I always book everything separately and usually save quite a bit, but I've worked it out and think I've got a really good deal!:thumbsup2
