We have always driven to WDW. But, I found a cheap flight for us today. It will cost $500 rt for 4 of us. I figure if gas prices go to $3/gallon again, we'll be looking at between $150-$200 for us to drive. If you've flown before, how long did it take? I'm just not sure what the time savings (if any) would be for us. It takes us 8 hours to drive. But, with having to be at the airport so early now & then having to rely on Magical Express, will we just break even on time?

Thanks!
Angie

I fly from Atanta and can assure you that from my house to Mickeys' it does not normally take 8 hours. (Exceptions tend to occur on Friday afternoon during the summer when the Thunderstorms roll thru, but even then it's not 8 hours. If you can however, try to fly in the morning!)

We often fly from Atlanta and we arrive at airport 2 hours early, 1 hour flight, 1 hour from gate to hotel on ME, so that's 4 hours plus another 45 min in drive time from our home to park n ride and then to terminal in Atlanta. It saves us about 3 hours, but mentally it seems so much shorter than the drive. We fly if I can get airfare under $150 each including all taxes. We are a family of 3.

Where did you receive that price from atlanta to orlando?

Check out Spirit. In Feb we flew for $125 r/t. For May, we are going for $145 r/t. They have some really good sales, you just have to check their site often and keep checking back. The rates change daily and I have seen some seats for less than $10 one way!
