Yesterday morning at 4am I woke up feeling sick. I ended up (sorry this is gross) vomiting several times over the next 6 hours. Then I got terrible body aches and developed a 100.4 degree fever. I stayed in bed and slept off and on all day. I sipped water and Gatorade when I was awake.

Well, today I feel fine - no fever, no body aches, and no nausea. I wonder if it was the flu?? :confused3 I will say all of last week I didn't feel like myself - not sick but just "off".

Anyone else ever have this?

The flu (influenza) isn't characterized by vomiting like that, ever.
Sounds like you had a gastrointestinal virus. They have to run their course. The body aches were most likely from the stress of vomiting so much.

Doubt it was the flu- probably a 24 hour virus! Glad you are feeling better. Keep resting though!
My very unprofessional internet opinion.:rotfl2:

I had it on christmas :thumbsup2 it was terrible  At least it hit me AFTER the kids opened their gifts. Just a one day tummy bug that's going around I guess

I had similar symtoms in Nivember, no vomiting though. I was feeling off for about a week. My dr. did a flu swab and it came back positive. I literally felt really sick for 2 days after that just achy.

I had that right after Christmas. My son got it the sat after christmas, DH got it on Monday and I got it on Tuesday. DS felt better by Sunday, but it took DH and I longer to get over it. I had the fever and aches too, but I just figured the aches were from the fever. It wasn't fun.

Noravirus runs about a 24 hour time period, can you get you a fever (which causes the achiness). So, I would say NOT the flu.

DS was sick in October. Fever and vomiting with some bodyaches. Too him to the dr and they confirmed it was the seasonal flu. He only all that stuff for 1 day. The next day he wanted to go back to school but couldn't because he wasn't fever free long enough.

Influenza is usually a 5-10 day illness, not 24hrs. You had some kind of a virus, I'd say. Glad you feel better now though. Your symptoms sound wretched.

A lady on the Newest Moms thread just reported that her infant had it last night and now her other daughter has it.. Must be something going around!
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the replies.

It does sound like it was a virus since it only lasted one day. I do feel better but my appetite hasn't come back yet. I'm just drinking lots of fluids and eating light.
