Florida Hair

I saw this thread and had to post. . . I also have curly hair. Thick, curly, frizzy hair. In Florida, however, if I put enough leave in conditioner in it, it curls pretty nicely. I consider FL one state in which I have good hair. I straighten it at home, but in FL I'm a curly girl all the way. Take the conditioner with you into the parks and you'll have defined curls all day! :earboy2:

I hear that the barbershop on mainstreat is good

Not sure if this applies to anyone else, but my hair instantly goes yucko from the hard water in Florida, which we don't have where I live. :crazy2: At home it's silky soft and totally non-frizzy 99% of the time, but here it's stiff and flyaway at the same time!!! :confused3 I just do the best I can with washing the night before, blow drying, and not using any products on it, because the buildup just gets worse and worse by the day when I do that. I wish I could figure out a better way to deal with this hair issue!!! :rotfl:

I love Biosilk! Yes, it can be pricey, but a bottle will last forever! I have shoulder length hair and I only use about a dime-size amount. In FL, I put a small amount on my hair when it is wet, blow dry, and then smooth a small amount on after my hair is dry. It isn't sticky or heavy and it doesn't get gross if your hair happens to get a little wet later in the day.

My people my people! No one understands hair issues better than people who have hair issues. My hair is very thick with lots of body in it and I have a lot of it. A lot! Last time we were at WDW my hair was very long so I would wash and contition it in the morning, put a little leave in conditoner/sunscreen in it and then have my hair french braided. It stayed the entire day like that and I would use a hat when the sun got too hot out (i also have some sun sensitivity issues). Right after I returned from that trip I chopped my hair off. And then kept chopping it till it was practically shaved in the back. Had it that way for a while and was happy with it, very easy to do and took no time. But I had to do it every day so I decided to grow it back out. And thats where I am now. Its at wierd stage and I am at a loss of what to do when I get to WDW. Normally I blow dry it every day with a round brush but with any type of moisture in the air, my hair is a goner. It definately turns into "monica hair"! Its too long to just let it be but to short to pony tail or braid. And no hat will work since its layered in a strange way. Did I mention I have a lot of very thick hair? So with that, hats dont fit my head. Too much hair. So unless i can figure something out it will be a vacation of very bad hair days. If anyone sees someone walking around with very nappy, crazy :crazy2: , scary looking :scared1: monica hair......smile, nod and try not to directly look at the 'fro. And advert the eyes of youngins, dont want to frighten them.

Don't worry, Stacerita! The 'fro is making a comeback! It's retro, you know! ;)
